lol @ nikkas in hear advocating boxers getting suspended for a year for weed... WEED!!??

it doesn't matter performance enhancer or not, point is he failed his 2ND drug test in the state of nevada and also on a work visa, not to mentioned this muthafukkka skip out on a drug test in another state which put question marks if he used drugs that fight. they need to punish him.

zab vs spinks was much closer and more competitive than martinez-chavez, in addition zab took a HUGE paycut make the rematch happen.

chavez is about to be suspened, and if the NSAC does there job right, he should be out for 6-12 months.

I can't see sergio sitting around for a rematch when he has options, like unification bouts with geale, ggg, or even cotto in the future. i really think that if cotto beats trout in december, him and martinez is a strong possibility next year.

Of course Zab had to bend over backwards for the rematch.. He's the one who would benefit from it the most. Spinks/Judah 1 was more competitive than Martinez/Chavez jr but it wasn't more entertaining.

The thing is both Chavez jr and Martinez gonna have to sit out a while due to injuries anyway and seeing that Chavez jr is somewhat of a cash cow I doubt he'll be suspended long. Sergio don't haave all these options ya'll keep saying he has. He ain't gon fight a beast like GGG when hardly nobody knows dude. Cotto is a big If cuz Cotto might fight Canelo if he gets past Trout and that's a more winnable fight for him anyway.

Martinez might as well do the rematch and let the other contenders at 160 get a statment victory against each other in order to make a fight with him later on.

Sergio said he's gonna be 100% come November so he's not gonna miss much time.

I think he's gonna fight Geale in March (wouldn't shock me if he fights in Argentina, he's gonna push for it at least) and then wait for a last big payday against either Junior, Cotto or even Mayweather if there is a real chance for it.

I'd rather see Geale and GGG fight each other first then the winner gets Martinez but if he was to just fight one or the other straight up I'd have no problem with it.

breh he went from fighting pavlik and williams to guys like macklin, and barker, dzinruik who weren't even know here in states. you really dont think a geale, or ggg fight is possible. and martinez got good money fighting those 3 guys but nothing like he got for the chavez fight. ggg is cool but all this most feared/duck shyt at middleweight people are saying over the net is all a promotional scheme to get him a big fight. i think it's about time chavez make that trip up north (168).

Fights with Macklin, Barker, and Dzinruik got made because there not that dangerous. If Martinez's people wanted dangerous no name europeans they would have went after Pirog who at least beat Danny Jacobs. People at least asked about that fight. Nobody was screaming for a Barker fight or a Macklin fight. The Geale fight prolly gets made and like I said earlier I'm with it. I know Martinez aint fighting GGG though unless the demand gets crazy for it.

Chavez Jr should fight Pavlik at 168 and then go after Ward. Chavez will prolly go the Hatton route by blowing up in weight while being suspended/injured so I doubt he'll ever make 160 again.

martinez should fight geale but i just looked at his record and realized he fights out of australia. his australian promoters are not going to allow him to fight sergio. to me this is a fight that can never happen. sergio has only three realistic opponents and they are cotto, canelo, and chavez jr again. sergio probably cant get fights with cotto and canelo, leaving just chavez jr. but whats interesting is that chavez jr doesnt really have anyone to fight himself. in other words, he needs sergio almost more than sergio needs him for a big payday. that is a big point because it means that sergio can control more things in a rematch regarding weight cut off limit, location, judges etc

if chavez refuses that fight, which is a possibility that he doesnt want to fight sergio again because how hard it is to fight him stylistically, he probably has to fight pavlik

Sergio could fight Triple G but he dont want none of those problems.
