Ain't surprised by that choice. Marquez wasn't the strongest, the fastest, most powerful guy around but he was damn crafty
that was one cuban that knew how to make an entertaining fight though..getting ko'ed by timmy when he was weeded out was sad

I wouldn't be shocked if breadman, aka the deacon from the wire, read this site. Look st how specific some of his comments are.

Edit: That article is hilarious :mjlol:

For real.
When he said everyone wants to be right....I'm like nikka you the same way. Fischer is too. :mjlol:

They like to complain about the fans, but they fans they damn selves and do the same shyt sometimes. I still respect them though, they just gotta keep it real with that aspect.

I can respect them wanting to run it back though. Hell, they was in the fight all the way up to the KO. Nothing to be ashamed about. The only reason some fans could have suggested that they didn't fight Charlo or take an easier route to the title, is because he brought up not being able to fight Vanes or Trout for the experience before getting to Charlo. I mean when you say that, you open the flood gates for nikkas to suggest that type of shyt.

He's right about this era though. nikkas see you look vulnerable and fights get made.

I said that with GGG last year. As soon as he looks bad, he'll get a big fight. Later on Brook gives him some work and has some good ass moments, and the next thing you know we getting Jacobs vs Golovkin. :manny:

Pacquiao’s next fight will be outside US – Arum 0

Top Rank Promotion boss Bob Arum said that Manny Pacquiao’s next fight would be outside the United States either in April or May.

The veteran promoter added that the fight between Pacman and the unbeaten unified junior welterweight champion Terrence Crawford would probably happen late this year in the US.

“There’ll be no Pacquiao-Crawford fight in the first to six months of the year definitely,” Arum told The Manila Times via overseas call on Tuesday. “Only if the fight will be in the United States but we’re not planning the next fight in the United States so we’re also not planning on Crawford now.”

Arum explained that he’s eyeing a competitive fight outside the US because of Pacquiao’s status as a boxer.

“I think Manny Pacquiao is more than just a boxer because he is representing the Philippines,” he said. “It’s good for him to fight in places around the world same way Muhamad Ali fought so many fights outside of the United States.”

The 38-year-old Pacquiao (59-6-2 win-loss-draw record with 38 knockouts) won the World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight belt last December 5 in Las Vegas after beating Jessie Vargas via unanimous decision.

“Now that the New Year is over I’m going to finalize a location because we’re looking out an opponent depending on the locations like in Australia, England, Middle East or maybe even in Mexico. That’s what I want to do with the last period of Manny’s career, Arum said. “I want him to be known as a worldwide fighter.”

He named WBO No. 2 welterweight Jeff “The Hornet” Horn (16-0-1 record with 11 knockouts) of Australia as the likely first opponent of Pacquiao this year.

“Jeff Horn is a good possibility. I will be flying soon to the Philippines once I finalized every detail.”

Unified WBO and World Boxing Council (WBC) junior welterweight champion Crawford (30-0 record with 21 knock-outs) was also considered as Pacquiao’s next possible next foe after he scored a technical knockout victory over John Molina last December 10 in Nebraska.

“A possible Pacquiao fight against Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko could also happen late next year in the US if ever Lomachenko goes up to the welterweight class. He is presently weighing up at 135 pounds. He’ll be fighting in March,” Arum added.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao’s business manager and 1-Pacman Partylist Rep. Eric Pineda confirmed that Pacman and reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach were designated by the Department of Tourism (DOT) as Philippine Tourism Ambassadors.

“Manny is widely known in the whole world and he’s so proud to serve the nation as Tourism Ambassador. We pushed for that appointment,” Pineda told The Times in a phone interview. “Manny and Pia also have many followers. They are also part of DOT’s program.”

Asked if Pacquiao could use his position to bring his second fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. to the Philippines, Pineda said, “That’s very impossible to happen. Mayweather will not be fighting outside the United States or outside Las Vegas and I think he won’t agree with that.”

This mfer gonna put everyone in front of Pacquiao before Crawford probably Pac wants so too. shyt is getting ridiculous.

First Bradley 3 but that was justifiable then Jessie fukking Vargas and now Jeff Horn of all people? :picard: They even seriously thought about a Loma fight.

If he really doesn't want to put him anywhere near of Crawford then why the fukk he doesn't pick someone out of the Haymon stable supposedly that they can work together now?

A P4P top10 fighters is just one division south from Pacquiao and they gonna fight everyone and their moms before him :gucci:

Josesito Lopez Favors Brandon Rios in Victor Ortiz Grudge Fight

By Ryan Burton

Welterweight contender Josesito Lopez (34-7) returned to the win column on December 10th when he won an unanimous decision over Todd Manuel in Los Angeles. The fight was Lopez's first since his stoppage loss to Andre Berto in March, 2015.

Lopez hopes to return to the ring in another tune up bout early in 2017 and is also looking forward to another potential welterweight fight that is likely to take place in the first quarter of 2017.

Victor Ortiz (31-6-2) and Brandon Rios (33-3-1), both of Garden City Kansas, who now reside in Southern California, are supposed to face each other in a grudge match that is years in the making. A venue in the Los Angeles area and an official announcement haven't been nailed down yet but they are expected to square off in February or March.

brandon-rios-victor-ortiz.jpg

The 32-year-old Lopez who is also from Southern California, stopped Ortiz in 2012 to earn a fight against Canelo Alvarez. He cannot wait to see the match up.

"That is an exciting fight man. I am excited for that one. It is a great fight. Victor Ortiz is a good fighter. He is a tough fighter and Brandon Rios is a bad ass. He is Bam Bam. I am excited for that one and I think Brandon Rios - a lot of people might count him out and might count Victor out too - but I favor Brandon Rios there," Lopez told BoxingScene.com.

Ortiz has been labeled as a quitter by some fans after stoppage losses to Marcos Maidana and to Lopez (to be fair his jaw was broken by Josesito Lopez in their fight) but Lopez feels that there is too much at stake for either fighter to give anything less than 100% in the fight.

"There is a lot of pride on the line and I can't see anybody take a step back. I have seen Brandon Rios train and he is a very tough fighter. I can't wait to see that fight," said Lopez.
