Good:birdman:

Luis Ortiz:umad:
not good

Ortiz was even suspended I think, he did his time as far as I'm concerned... Second chances exist. It's dumb to not fight someone cause he once got popped with something and even served his time for it.

Now if someone does it twice, like Povetkin that's fukked up and he should be banned for a very long time. But Ortiz only got popped once

It would be a month notice for Ortiz too so I don't see the problem

Wilder will have a "get back in form" soft touch opponent now cause of his injury but after that it would be really good if his matchmakers would stop fukking around and they would put him in with someone higher level than Eric Molina or Szpilka and not only if it's mandatory.

Drug testing and Ortiz not having to go through them. PEDs are running rampant, obviously, and Ortiz is a verified cheater. Who's to say he hasn't just cycled off?:jbhmm:

Don't start this fukk shyt :russ:

I'm just saying that everyone deserves a second chance, just like people who served time in jail deserve a second chance when they get out.
Same for PED users. If they already paid the price why to punish them in all the rest of their career :yeshrug:

fighters who got popped twice are different case

Because we are talking about a sport where you can literally be KILLED while participating it......and then you're going to allow a previous, proven, cheater to fight without drug testing him?:dwillhuh:

You do know you can cycle on/off of PEDs and Ortiz could've been doing exactly that, we don't know. IMO, No way do you fight someone who was already busted, when you are unable to drug test them in the weeks leading up to the fight:manny:

The general opinion seems to disagree with you on this then... :manny:
Fighters who got caught with PEDs don't get bans for life, they can eventually come back after the suspension ends.
So according to the organizations it isn't something what should result a lifetime ban.

I guess it also depends what kind of PEDs but point is that my stance on this is not some extreme, it's pretty much the normal, saying that they should get lifetime ban cause of one slip is more of an extreme imo...

And don't spin it like I would protect and support PED users, no, I never support the fact that someone does PEDs and I think all of them should get their fair punishment. But I don't think that there's no second chance for them if they are willing to go through the strictest PED controls and come out clean in the rest of their career.

I never said anything about imposing a lifetime ban bro.

Dibella said:

"We eliminated anybody from consideration who has a history of PEDs. We are not going to fight any boxer with a history of PEDs on a month's notice," DiBella told BoxingScene.com. - See more at: Wilder Promoter on Luis Ortiz: Fighters With PED History Ruled Out - Boxing News

Which is exactly the stance that should be taken, given that the fight is under a month away and their is no proof that Ortiz has NOT been using PEDs up to this point and just cycled off.

In the words of @ChocolateGiddyUp

NO SHOT :umad:

:heh: at Schaeffer being on his :whoa::usure: to Mikey Garcia @mr. smoke weed

As soon as Richard Schaefer familiarized himself with Dejan Zlaticanin, he called Mikey Garcia.

The promoter of a Showtime doubleheader that includes the Zlaticanin-Garcia lightweight title fight Saturday night realized quickly that Montenegro’s Zlaticanin wouldn’t represent an easy path to a 135-pound world title. Soon thereafter, Schaefer met with Garcia and his older brother/trainer, Robert Garcia, and asked them to think twice about boxing Zlaticanin.

“I sat down with him and his brother, Robert,” Schaefer recalled during a press conference Thursday in Las Vegas. “And I said, ‘Man, this is only your second fight [at lightweight]. Why do you want to fight this guy? I mean, there’s so many other guys. This guy’s dangerous. This is really playing with fire.’ And then I get a call from a very respected journalist a couple hours later. And he’s telling me, ‘Why did you make that fight? You know Mikey’s gonna lose?’”

Zlaticanin (22-0, 15 KOs), the WBC world lightweight champion, stands just 5-feet-4, three inches shorter than Garcia (35-0, 29 KOs). The hard-hitting southpaw presents a big problem, though, because of his dangerous left hand and relentless nature. Schaefer joked Thursday that Zlaticanin reminds him of “King Kong.”

“I said, ‘Mikey, please, don’t you wanna change your mind?,’ ” Schaefer said. “He said, ‘What, you don’t think I’m gonna be able to beat the guy?’ I says, ‘No, but you know, maybe later on. Take another fight or so.’ He said, ‘No, no, no. I’ve wasted enough time. That’s the kind of fighter I am. I wanna fight the best. Wanna win against the best. I’m here to make a statement. That’s the kind of fighter I am.’ And here we go. This is a very dangerous fight.”

The 29-year-old Garcia, who resides in Riverside, California, will attempt to win a world title in a third weight class. The Zlaticanin-Garcia fight will open Showtime’s doubleheader at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT from MGM Grand Garden Arena.

The main event will be a 12-round rematch between Northern Ireland’s Carl Frampton (23-0, 14 KOs), the WBA world featherweight champion, and Leo Santa Cruz (32-1-1, 18 KOs), of Rosemead, California.

People will see how Ordinary Garcia generic ass is with this fight......Zlaticanin needs to throw his right hand with conviction; at times he has a habit of paw or holding with his right and firing away and away with lefts, when his rights has serious pop, especially those the right body hooks and uppercuts; he needs to throw shots more to methodically break his opponents down rather than head hunting that fight ending left; I feel he still has enough to beat a Garcia who never impressed me; may be its Garcia hype that makes me hate him I see nothing special though....
