Dan Rafael chat wrap 2/2:

- In a perfect world he would like to see Mikey Garcia fight: Easter, Linares-Crolla winner, Lomachenko, Crawford or Broner next.
- Doubts we see Garcia vs. Lomachenko any time soon. Hard to see TR doing Mikey any favors.
- Rank these fights in order of desire: Chocolatito-Inoue, Garcia-Crawford, GGG-Canelo? 1. GGG-Canelo, 2. Chocolatito-Inoue, 3. Garcia-Crawford.
- The belt issue in Sosa-Lomachenko will not be a barrier in making the fight.
- Sosa has good power and always tries hard, but doesn't believe he gives Lomachenko too many problems.
- Disagrees with Teddy Atlas leaving GGG out of his top 10 about as strongly as anyone could disagree with something.
- Picking Kovalev over Ward in PFP lists is not insane. It was a close fight and one many thought Kovalev won.
- Mares vs. Selby? Good fight, would favor Mares.
- Verdejo will be back on UniMas.
- Yvone Michel won the Beterbiev-Barrera purse pid. Winner becomes the mandatory to Ward.
- Likely that Beterbiev vs. Barrera could land in NY and possible Stevenson is on the card.
- Probably will be a third LSC-Frampton fight.
- LSC vs. Frampton 2 had no chance of being in Belfast. Showtime was paying for the show and they weren't going to leave the US.
- Showtime is still confident they will win the bid to show Joshua vs. Klitschko.
- Ward vs. Eubanks? Ward would school him easily.
- Spence has all the talent in the world and believes he probably becomes one of the top fighters in the world, but we can't crown him until he proves it.
- For now looks like Brook vs. Spence will be headed to a purse bid and Brook is leaning towards taking the fight.
- Who is the current Heavyweight king? There isn't one. Fury is on ice. Joshua and Wilder are undefeated but rather untested, Klitschko is still around but coming off a defeat, Parker just unimpressively won a title, and Ortiz is dying for a big fight but hasn't secured one.
- Rate the HW champs? 1. Fury (lineal), 2. Wilder, 3. Joshua, 4. Parker.
- Klitschko sounds as enthusiastic to fight Joshua as he ever has vs. anyone in his career.
- Joshua vs. Klitschko has a rematch clause. A rematch likely happens unless the fight is a total blow out.
- WBA ordered that Joshua vs. Klitschko winner must face Ortiz.
- Pacquiao vs. Horn should be taking place April 22 in Brisbane.
- Likely Zurdo is on the Pacquiao undercard (but fighting in the US). Valdez and Magdaleno could also be on the card.
- Korobov might fight Zurdo, would definitely favor Zurdo.
- If GGG beats Jacobs he will fight again in the summer before a potential Canelo fight in September.
- Nothing on Postol.
- Odds are Canelo vs. JCC will be in Vegas.
- Canelo vs. JCC undercard likely will have Matthysse on it.
- Showtime is killing HBO right now.
- Walters isn't in his top 10 at 130 because he is new to the division, rarely fights, quit vs. Lomachenko, and the division is deep.
- Clarissa Shields' next bout is likely March 10 on ShoBox.
- Andrade's career is a mess, but Andrade's point of view is if he can get a belt vs. Culcay it will help with his leverage.
- Who are the best comparisons to Gatti style fighting? Chico Corrales, Francisco Vargas, and Orlando Salido.
- Would want to see Salido vs. Muira before Salido vs. Berchelt.
- Likely no US TV for Burns-Indongo.
- Washington is a more interesting fight for Wilder than the Polish fighter.
- Valdez vs. Frampton? Would be an awesome fight. Definitely won't happen this year and doubtful it will ever happen.
- What would Garcia vs. Thurman do on PPV? Very low, neither guy can carry PPV business.
- Lamont Peterson will be fighting Feb. 18 on the Broner undercard.
- Craziest stories he has heard? When Castillo missed weight vs. Corrales, Castillo's team told him they considered taking a couple pints of Castillo's blood out before the weigh in and putting it back in afterwords.
- Benavidez probably needs a couple more fight vs. better opposition and then will be ready for a title fight.
- Believes people overestimate Brooks performance vs. GGG. GGG had him hurt early and Brook started moving around a lot more. GGG knew Kell couldn't hurt him so he just went straight in to try and end the fight.
- Love him or hate him, Schaefer runs a professional, first class promotion.
- Not determined yet who will be broadcasting the GB fights on ESPN2.
- Has known Khan a long time and he generally is very engaging and a good guy to deal with. But he does have a lot of drama.

Arum: I Met With Marquez - He Said He'll NEVER Fight Pacquiao

By Edward Chaykovsky

Last week, former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez told reporters that he'll never take part in a fifth fight with career rival Manny Pacquiao, who currently holds the WBO welterweight title.

Marquez even went as far as to say that he'd reject a potential offer of "$100 million dollars" to take the fight.

The two boxers first collided in 2004, with a controversial twelve round draw after Marquez survived a first round that saw him get dropped three times.

A rematch took place in 2008, with Pacquiao winning a controversial twelve round split decision. Pacquiao secured another controversial decision win in their 2011 trilogy fight. But the fourth meeting saw both fighters go down, before Marquez knocked Pacquiao out cold in the sixth and final round.

According to Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who works with both boxers, he recently had a meeting with Marquez and the Mexican veteran made it clear that he would never fight Pacquiao again.

Marquez, inactive since May of 2014, is looking to have one final career fight before ending his Hall of Fame run.

“Marquez came to see us with his lawyer and he told me that under no circumstances, no matter what money it is, he won’t fight Manny Pacquiao. He didn’t say a hundred million but under no circumstances, he is not going to fight. The fight will never happen, according to Marquez. He is not interested,” Arum told The Manila Times.

JMM acting like the kid who goes to the park to play bball and loses like 3 or 4 games in a row.
As soon as he finally wins one, he takes his basketball and leaves instead of running it back on his terms:mjlol:

Dude doesn't' seem like he wants to fight anyone at this point tho, may as well retire. He's prolly not in the right mental state to really train hard anymore as it is. If he fights anybody decent that can use some lateral movement, he might run the risk of catching the beats. :manny:

Fighting twice a year is good for your health. You often see old-timers who fought so often, back in the day, having health problems. Of course, if you love to fight, you want to fight every month. But this way, it extends your career,” Peterson opined.[/QUOTE
