Mundine in Tears: I Was Robbed, A Sad Way To Likely Retire

A shattered Anthony Mundine labelled his controversial loss to Danny Green the worst of his career because he knows he won the fight. The decision to award Green a controversial majority decision in the pair’s Adelaide Oval bout was met with widespread dismay in boxing circles.

''What do you do … when you give a performance like that. I had him beat up, I had him bleeding, his eyes were puffy,’’ Mundine told Fox Sports News.

"I still won the fight hands down, I don’t know … it just hurts. 'To put on all that weight and perform the way I did, I produced an impossible task tonight. They robbed me. I know I won it, he knows I won it, that's what makes it so tough. He [Green] knows in his heart that I was the man, again.''

Mundine said the fact he knows in his heart that he won will matter for little as the years go by.

''I thought I won that fight and it’s 2-0 … I deserved it. But history will tell a different story,’’ he said. ''People know in their hearts, [the people] that watched the fight ... they know who was the better man.’’

The 41-year-old also all-but announced his retirement, saying his passion for the sport was waning.

''More than likely [he will retire], it is a sad way to go out. 'If I had the desire, the will, and the heart to go on ... [to] look for a world title to fight the best of the best then I would, man,’’ Mundine said.

The decision by one judge to score the fight 98-90 in favour of Green was particularly baffling.

''He must have had four eyes or something, two sets of glasses,’’ Mundine said. ''I landed more clean shots, I countered well, what do you do.’’

As much as I hate Mundine, he's right - there's no way :flabbynsick: Green should've got that decision. It was a shytty fight anyway
