He got better since the but I'll never forget him letting Floyd walk him down everbody expecting Floyd to run and he just stooed there in th middle of ring. That prolly was Floyds easiest fight in years. So I dnt see how him not even scratching Floyd gives him some type of advantage on GGG

I think what @reservoirdogs dogs means is that canelo has faced guys with better attributes then little g. he's faced faster guys, he's faced guys with better defense....hes faced guys with better technical ability. has little g ever faced a better counter puncher than canelo?....has he ever faced a better defensive fighter than canelo?....a better body puncher?.....a fighter with more speed?......brook is probably the same speed and we seen what happened there. canelo is a sharper puncher than brook though.


yea canelo hasn't faced a bigger puncher than little g, or a guy who can cut off the ring as well. but overall, canelo has much more experience vs a variety of different styles. while little g's whole resume is filled with one dimensional boxers with horrible defense.

Willie Monroe is definitely a good boxer with defensive ability. He's not Lara, but he's a better technical boxer than anyone else Canelo has faced outside of Lara and Floyd.

Honestly, Canelo could go starch out JCC Jr and everything I said would previously would mean absolutely nothing, bc the most important thing Canelo needs is to carry his power with him imo. If his power carries, he will make the GGG fight very interesting and his odds to win increase to nearly about 50% imo.


Canelo does a LOT of great things, but if he cant hurt GGG, it wont matter. If he can hurt him, or even pause him throughout the fight, it turns into "Canelo's World" and he's gonna make GGG pay over and over again due to the speed & quickness differential, plus Canelo's body work


I can see Canelo vs GGG playing out like SRL vs Hagler if Canelo has the stamina and his power carries.

at this point, i'm hoping canelo was killing himself all this time to make 155. cause then I know for sure he's gonna be stronger at 160. I know he can hurt julio with an accumulation of punishment, but if he can actually hurt dude with single shots, it changes the whole landscape of the little g fight. welterweight brook rattled little g a few times. so a full fledged 160 lb canelo who packs a bigger punch than his 154 self......means little g in deep shyt

He wins the first 3 rounds only off speed and then better opponents figure him out, time him, usually even KO him



Canelo isn't as flat footed as he used to be. He's still not a Lara but he is faster at this point than Golovkin both with hands and feets. He has an underrated jab too and quick, precise combos. I think he would throw leather at Golovkin then move a little and so on... not like a May fight he would stood more before Golovkin that's true but he would hit back much more than Golovkin's opponebts so far and he also has a better defense than most of them. I don't say that it'd be easy for any of them but I'd slightly pick Canelo.

Golivkin is good but beatable and has his limitations. I still stick to my opinion that while he really is a very good fighter the hype he receives now is also due to him competeing (recent years) in one of boxing's worst divisions where he could look as dominant as he did much easier than in a division filled with more talent.
And no I don't downgrade his competition just because he is "too good" we have seen May owning everyone in welterweight for example but it was still clear that it's one of if not the best division around.
Golovkin's best opponent to date, p4p would barely be even in the top 10 of ww let's be real

I agree. If he shows great stamina vs JCC Jr and can hurt JCC Jr, then yeah......GGG gonna get what he was looking for.


JMW Canelo wasn't in peak shape, so him vs GGG was a matchup for me due to me thinking Canelo will gas and that's all GGG will be waiting on.


MW Canelo with proven stamina and power will be if it carries and the stamina is there.
