Cotto looking at possible $10 mil purse for Canelo fight in Sept. In other news, Wilder may do some time for choking that chick at the Mayweather fight.

I told nikkas Team Canelo is pump faking like Mayweather is on the radar for September, now the WBC president is asking Canelo to do 3 more fights before a Mayweather match, he's not ready yet. They aint trying to ruin the money train now...........................

I would actually pick Cotto in that match, I think he could nuetralize Canello's attack.

Cotto aint gonna sit still and bullshyt with his jab like Trout did, he's gonna make Canelo pay for disregarding that punch, and you need supreme workrate to beat a fighter like Cotto, you have to outwork him, like Margarito, Pacquiao, Mayweather and Trout did, even still those fighters took punishment trying to employ that strategy, Canelo aint gonna win throwing 40 punches a round, and Cotto will be able to dance and look pretty and breathe and be fresh for the later rounds while Canelo sit backs and take damn near 2 minutes to recharge after a simple ass combo

He hits just as hard and has proven to be a much better boxer now compared to 6 or 7 yrs ago. Should be a good one Canelo. But I'll take him nexus of his youth and ability to take a punch as well as delivering good clean shots.

My only problem with Canelo is the same problem I have with Matthyse. They wait entirely too long to start throwing punching. They like to rest on the fact that they haven't really been hurt in a fight.

I be tellin nikkas too. Canelo is not fighting FMJ in Sept. The earliest you would see them fight would be 2014. Still...I dont think Team Canelo wants the fight. :moneymay:
I think TMT wants the last fight on the contract to be against Broner and I have my reasons for believing this. If its up to Canelo's people, he would be NEXT to last or last fight for Mayweather. First of all, they dont want Floyd right now....will ruin the money train like Skip said. Secondly, if Cotto looking at $10 mil what is Canelo looking at? No need to take an L against Floyd....and any of you nikkas thinking Canelo wont get that work....

I would LOVE to see Cotto give Canelo that work. sadly, I just dont see him having the style to do it. to me it would be a great upset if Cotto would be able to win, regardless of how green Canelo is. the style is just all wrong for Cotto. but that paycheck...

I dont think that Team Canelo wants FMJ right now. I think they did, but if Cotto is still out there, why fight FMJ now? Its just not good business sense. He will make millions for fighting Cotto which is much more winnable for him, then he builds towards FMJ fight.

Put it like this. If FMJ beats whoever in Sept and Canelo beats Cotto more impressively than FMJ did, then there is MUCH more money in FMJ-Canelo next May than it would be in Sept.

sn: I dont know if we will ever see a FMJ-Broner fight but as long as they keep winning....FMJ will finish his career having faced both Canelo and Pac, trust me on that.

he wont but Cotto surprisingly is one of the top paid boxers of all time. IIRC, last year in Forbes, Cotto was #75 . He was the 4th boxer behind FMJ, Manny, and Wlad. He raked in $19 mil against Marg and FMJ. The :moneymay: fight also puts Cotto at # 10 all time for highest purse for a fight at $8 mil. He wont get that much guaranteed for Canelo but after PPV he would likely go over $10 mil for that fight.
