question...

Floyd has fought about 8 times at WW and twice at JMW.
Pac has fought about 6 times at WW and once at JMW.

Both have been rated #1 P4P while at WW.

I never hear anyone saying Pac is ducking Canelo or asking him to fight Serge.

why not?

The ducking accusations against Pacquiao were pretty prevalent in 2011/early 2012 though especially after Sergio claimed Pac's camp wanted Martinez to agree to the fight being at 147 and that Sergio could not come into fight night above 150. Plus after getting KTFO by Marquez, Pac doesn't have the same cache among boxing fans/journalists/commentators as Floyd who is still the undisputed #1 boxer in the game.

I hate catchweights and I hate non-title fights that are like one or two pounds over the limit.

I dont think that Team Canelo wants FMJ right now. I think they did, but if Cotto is still out there, why fight FMJ now? Its just not good business sense. He will make millions for fighting Cotto which is much more winnable for him, then he builds towards FMJ fight.

Put it like this. If FMJ beats whoever in Sept and Canelo beats Cotto more impressively than FMJ did, then there is MUCH more money in FMJ-Canelo next May than it would be in Sept.

sn: I dont know if we will ever see a FMJ-Broner fight but as long as they keep winning....FMJ will finish his career having faced both Canelo and Pac, trust me on that.

Well for starters, I just don't see FMJ dominating Canelo like most of you do... I think if they do fight Floyd gets put on his ass sometime during the middle rounds .. if that don't happen I think the fight goes the distance and Floyd still wins within under 3-4 rounds prompting a rematch since obviously it would be a good fight.. sure Canelo loses, but Floyds hardly gonna hurt him.. Frustrate or make him look bad sure, but I see him easily bouncing back from that loss making a Canelo/Cotto match more appropriate...

The reason Im not enthusiastic about Canelo/Cotto is because Cotto is gonna get his fukking ass beat and its gonna be worse than what Pac did to him.. I really don't wanna see that look on his kids face again man that shyt hurt me..

Above all else I believe that if Canelo destroys Cotto its just gonna make Floydie more discouraged to make the fight happen...

Because Pac got his feet wet at JMW already against Marg and the size difference was too much for him which is why his opponent weight limit is 150. and plus since Canelo is part of GB, well yea there ya go...

you really think boxers are actually afraid of one another? you think Canelo has or will show something that will put fear in FMJ's heart that he has never felt before? Corrales was waaaaaaaaaay more impressive and frightening than Canelo, he was blowing right through opponents. Mayweather was not even 2-1 by fight time. People thought that if Corrales caught FMJ he would put his lights out.

I would give Canelo a shot at looking better than expected (but still losing) against :moneymay: if he had looked better against Trout. Trout no where near as elusive, doesnt have the jab and doesnt hit as hard or as accurate as :moneymay:

Trust me, you will see FMJ vs Canelo, 2013 doesnt make much sense for either party though.

I would bet on Cotto if he fought Canelo.

Either way it's a brilliant PPV.

Trout was wrong style for Cotto, Canelo is perfect.

Pacquiao vs. Rios To Have USADA Drug Testing

Michael Koncz, adviser to eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao, has exclusively confirmed to BoxingScene.com that USADA [US Anti-Doping Agency] will regulate a random drug testing protocol for the upcoming fight with Brandon Rios, scheduled to take place on November 24th [November 23rd in the United States] at the Venetian in Macau, China. Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38KOs) vs. Rios (31-1-1, 23KOs) will be carried by HBO Pay-Per-View.

Koncz indicates that his team requested the testing protocol.

"Yes, I can confirm that we requested the USADA testing. We've never had anything to hide nor do we have anything to hide now," Koncz stated exclusively to BoxingScene.com.

Pacquiao is coming off a devastating sixth round knockout loss to Juan Manuel Marquez last December. Marquez was trained by controversial strength and conditioning coach Angel "Memo" Heredia.

Because Marquez, at 39-years-old, appeared to be in the best shape of his life with a newfound muscular body, and because of the sheer brutal nature of his victory - rumors quickly spread that Marquez was potentially using performance enhancing drugs.

In fact, the rumors began to surface before the fourth Pacquiao fight even took place. Marquez was often questioned on the subject and he was very firm that his muscular was the direct result of Heredia's tough training regimen.

Rios, trained by Robert Garcia, is now working with Heredia.

Koncz indicates that Heredia's working relationship with Rios is not the reason for the involvement of USADA in this fight.

"We just want to give the fans a clean fight and avoid any type of speculation or accusations once this fight is done," Koncz said.

Random drug testing was often the sticking point in finalizing a potential mega-fight between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. The two sides were eventually able to agree on a testing protocol, but unfortunately the monetary split between the two fighters became an even bigger issue in making a deal.

Cotto just fought a dumb fight, had he boxed from round 1 like he started doing in the middle rounds he would have made Trout look silly like he was doing in the them middle rounds.

one of my biggest boxing what-ifs is cotto/pacquiao, he started slugging and his warrior instinct kicked in when he was outboxing pac

if you dont give pac an opening he wont hit you (thats why floyd would easily do work)

after the first surprise KD it was a wrap :to:

yeah see what happens when you take a risk? you lose.

its not that hard to figure out.

there are risk takers and then there are risk avoiders.

He was boxing the shyt out of Manny he went for the kill too early, it could be argued that he swept the first 3 rounds and was on his way to doing the same in the 4th, before Manny throwing a weak ass flaining fighting for my life type of punch, and it connected at the right spot at the right time great match.

People like to hype that match up like Cotto got shutout then stopped, but the truth is he was very game won at least 4 rounds, fell victim to his own over aggression, and still busted Manny eardrum, outboxed him on jelly legs and withstood that onslaught, then the ref gives a BS Top Rank stoppage with like 30 seconds left in the 12th to assure Manny a knockout victory to inflate perception of his power at WW......:pacspit:
