i was with you until the bolded breh..pac was still the most dangerous fight for him due to his combination of speed, which is on floyd's level, and power which is he is one of the hardest punchers in recent boxing history...and unlike canelo pacquiao never had no damn stamina issues either

well saying MUCH more was a bit of an overstatement...and maybe im just caught in the moment. because at pacquiao's prime. when he just fought cotto. I do feel the floyd fight was a toss up. and canelo...i'd say it's 60-40 in floyd's favor. but after cotto, pac just never looked the same. and especially after margarito. I really think tony took a little something out of him. dude took a beating in that fight. and that's the pac I was thinkin about. and to me, canelo....if he comes into this fight even better than he was vs trout. which I am expecting since we've been seeing growth with every fight he's been in. he's going to be extremely tough for floyd to deal with. simply because of his size and punching power. i'm expecting a very hesitant mayweather in this fight. this is the naturally biggest guy he's ever fought. oscar and cotto he fought at 154 but they both started at the lower weights. canelo is 22 and a full fledged junior middleweight. it's gonna make a difference. especially with his hand problems. canelo doesn't have devastating power, but neither did mosley. hell, how many times have we seen mosley stun somebody off one punch, like he did floyd?....im leaning towards a floyd UD, but im expecting floyd to get some lumps in this one. only because he's not as quick on his feet as he used to be.

The highly anticipated matchup between former world champions Joan “Little Tyson” Guzman and Vicente “El Loco” Mosquera has landed on All Star Boxing’s successful series “Boxeo TELEMUNDO Ford” at the Kissimmee Civic Center in Kissimmee, FL, on Friday, June 28, 2013, the second date of their summer series. Guzman, (33-1-1, 20 KOs) of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic is a former WBO and IBF world champion. In his last fight he suffered his only defeat when he lost to Khabib Allakhverdiev by technical decision when he was unable to continue due to an injury. Mosquera (32-2-1, 17 KOs) is a former WBA world champion who lost his belt to the late Edwin Valero and is now on an eight fight winning streak. The bout is scheduled for 12 Rounds for the World Boxing Association interim jr. welterweight championship. Both fighters have been training in Florida for several weeks.

In the main event hometown favorite Orlando “El Fenomeno” Cruz (20-2-1, 10 KOs) of San Juan, Puerto Rico ranked #1 WBO will be defending his WBO Latino Featherweight belt against an opponent to be announced shortly. Cruz caught worldwide media attention when he became the first professional boxer to declare that he was gay in public last October. He will be looking for his 5th straight win since signing with All Star Boxing, Inc.

I honestly feel like the only reason Cruz is ranked that high is because he came out...he's not that good, not in any tier of mine at featherweight, and would get his ass beat by Mickey Garcia (WBO champ). That shyt would be a straight out hate crime, Hard punching Mexican against a flamboyant homosexual Puerto Rican :heh:

I said the same thing...my nikka Ponce took him out in 3....Cruz gets bodied by any of the top welters. to mosquera-guzman

Matthew Saad Muhammad Tribute - YouTube

matthew saad muhammad had some highlight reel KOs (the mwale KO was :wow:)..dude was a Philly fighter through and through....i remember watching some footage of him now..dude is punchy and was living in a homeless shelter :to:..boxing is a brutal sport brehs..i hope he's not still homeless though
@Dapper Dan I'd advise you to stick to watching his 70s and early 80s fights....the fights get uglier to watch after the second time he lost to dwight muhammad qawi...the wars he had during his championship reign caught up to him and it was a steady downward slide after that

I think he is still homeless.

After boxing he battled with blindness and even dabbled in MMA. Read more about him here

Well I am pretty damn surprised that this Mayweather/Alvarez fight is actually happening and it has nothing to do with Floyd but more to do with Golden Boy allowing it. I would have thought they would want to milk Canelo a bit more before serving him up to Floyd.
And I envision a Floyd win in a very unentertaining fight.

That's how I felt about the Victor Ortiz fight when it was announced, I knew he was roadkill from the jump.

The difference here being...

1) Canelo has yet to be exposed for not being able to take a punch or being a quitter

2) He's younger, able to bounce back from a loss at 23 to the greatest fighter of our time isn't much to feel down about

3) MONAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

4) He could possibly be out-growing 154 and he ain't getting Mayweather at 160. Anytime you rehydrate like that you should start considering moving up if possible

5) Canelo IS the best 154 fighter right now so why not...it's not like people wanted to see Mayweather/Alexander or Khan so...

this fight being made was simple....

Floyd has NO other fighter who can carry a major promotion who is available to fight in Sept. With Sho losing money, they couldnt losses on two straight PPV. I thought the fight made much more sense for Canelo for May but Floyd needs a dance partner that can crack 1 mil buys plus extra to recoup what was lost on Guerrero.

Whats's good fam...so what's good you think we could get Garcia/ Matysse on undercard of Floyd/ Canelo?

No. Show and GBP want to keep that as a Main Event. That fight would take place immediately before or after Floyd fight.

Canelo will be fine if he loses to Floyd.... he still got a PPV with Cotto who should be coming off a W N maybe even have a belt by then

They need to make Garcia Matthysse official already...I'm assuming all the attention was on making the ginger/Floyd fight

Box rec has Garcia and Mathysse as the undercard for Mayweather Canelo

:wow:

MY heart not strong enough for my 2 of my current favorite fighters to be on the same card in their biggest matches of their career:whew:

"Four titles will be at stake" says Schaefer, "with the Canelo staking the WBC, WBA and Ring junior middleweight titles, and Mayweather putting up the WBA Super title that he won from Miguel Cotto last May."

meaningless mumbo jumbo but if you follow the titles...if Floyd wins he will hold 5 titles simultaneously. WBC and Ring at 147 and WBC, WBA, and Ring at 154.

Which should quell any catchweight fuss, this fight is for all the titles, with each fighter having to sacrifice, Mayweather moving up to a weight he said he had no interest of moving up to, and Canelo simply losing a pound from his last weigh in
