According to top junior middleweight Tim Tszyu, there is a further delay to his mandatory fight with undisputed world champion Jermell Charlo.
Tszyu saw action last month, when he picked up a ninth round knockout of former world champion Tony Harrison.
He was initially scheduled to face Charlo, but their fight was delayed when the champion sustained a hand injury in training.
Their bout was going to land on a date in July, but it now appears to be heading to a date in the fall, as Charlo is apparently still dealing with the injury.
Because of the injury situation, Tszyu will continue to stay busy with a fight by “early June.”
And the fight with Charlo would take place “at the end of August, early September."
“Oh, for sure [I'm frustrated]. The bloke hasn’t fought for 12 months. How long can you keep postponing a fight?,” Tszyu explained to Nick Walshaw of Fox Sports. “I’m not sure [how bad his injury is]. But the medical reports say [that he should be healed]. All I can do is focus on myself.
“I think he understands this isn’t an easy fight for him. And so he wants to be 120 percent ready. I think before he was taking me lightly. Saying he was going to beat me with one hand. That he was ready to fight with one hand. Now he knows though. So he’s taking his time. He will try and postpone it for as long as he can.
“Somebody that is going to give me a challenge. I want to keep improving and have that attitude of fear no one, fight anyone. For me, the main factor is growth. Staying active, getting another style in front of me and being able to adapt to anyone.”

if the shyt from tim tszyu is true, the more fights he gets the more it will benefit and less of an underdog he will be when he faces mell. because now you are dealing with a long layoff and some rust against someone who has been active

Tszyu is the reason the fight was originally delayed before Charlo broke his hand
