I’m still not totally sold on Sheeraz as someone belonging to the top class. Imo Berlanga was a softer touch than Adames even counting in that this was at 168. We should see how Sheeraz fairs against someone who defends himself better while going forward to really tell how much could he improve with the new team.
So atp I don’t see Canelo being wary of fighting him not even the current somewhat over the hill Canelo.
Tbh I can't see Canelo taking the risk against a long armed, legged, 6'3'' opponent in their prime. He's never done that before, ever, I can't see him doing it now. Sheeraz is 10cm taller than anyone he's ever faced, and has 18 ko's from 23 fights.
Irrespective of the facade, Canelo Alvarez is risk averse as a fighter for the most part. And when he's taken risks, he's lost 2 out of 3, the third being tailor made before the bell.
*correction, James Kirkland was a big risk, given his style and power.
**double correction, GGG fights were huge risks, you gotta give credit where credit is due.
But post GGG, only Kovalev, Plant, Bivol, Saunders were risk fights. The Kovalev fight was A-side manipulations though.
