Dude was mad underrated
Cory was definitely.underrated...no one really brings him up these days...Ward is the only one ive heard to really mention him because Cory was his "big bro"...and i agree with Dougie...if Cory had got that nod over taylor, he would probably be looking at a HOF nomination ...Cory was a pure boxer in his prime..but once his reflexes started going it got brutal for him

IDK seems like a far fetched plan. this type of takeover would take decades if everything went perfectly.

I mean anything can happen though, will be interesting to see. end of the day I just want to see the best fight the best and if that continues whatever. Its up to those boxers to get what they feel they are worth.

The alarm that should set these boxers off is Dana Whites involvement, and the tampering of the Ali Act.

Boxers will be dumb to let them completely take over. All in all they need to form a union. Anything less will have them keep getting screwed.

he's not fighting on any network..unless you find some random youtube stream of the card he is on
Wtf...when did he sign with toprank? This kid has star written all over him. He will definitely be a force. Not sure why he isn't getting a push. I just randomly saw on Facebook he was fighting this weekend.

Top rank has been lending out their talent to other shows since they lost their TV deal

West Coast cats got it good when it comes to boxing fights.

12:00am eastern time for the main event. 9:00pm pacific time.

Even when the fights aren't in Vegas and are on the east coast if the main event starts at 9pm est that's just 6pm pacific.

People gotta get comfortable with zuffa being around permanently. Especially when Dana has turki's bankroll behind him. It seems to me they're gonna buy up all the talent between Zuffa and Riyadh/ring. You'll have ring champions and zuffa champions. And fights between them will be promoted as "undisputed". Effectively rendering sanctioning bodies irrelevant.

All of this is turki's master plan. Dana is just a pawn. Turk brought in Dana for star building. To create storylines and drama. Which is what he excels at.

If this was just Dana I would be worried about pay. But since turki is the mastermind behind all of it I actually feel fighters will continue to get paid reasonably well. At least much better than UFC fighters. It's the fact that zuffa guys can fight on ring cards that changes everything. They're not locked into zuffa pay structures. And zuffa guys can fight knowing a potential mega fight on a ring card could be right around the corner. It's gonna be interesting the see how this all plays out. But I'm optimistic with turki being involved. As fight fans, I don't see how this won't end up with better fights being made.
Im glad its happening.. 1st push these hoe ass promoters out the way.. next the sanctioning bodies.. boxing needs a complete overhaul

Just look what oscar said. A former fighter at that. "Promoters are here forever. Fighters come and go" :mjlol:

This is their mentality. Always has been. Fighters are disposable. They're the main reason the sport was on life support all these years. All they cared about was lining their own pockets. Of course Dana white is a scumbag too. But with turk being the real boss I don't see this ending up like UFC. And I was a big critic of turki when he first came on the scene, but he's actually been doing great things. Buying out the ring and revitalizing its entire reputation. Giving us a weekly boxing show. Up the minute boxing news every day. He's made a bigger impact in 2 years than all of these promoters have their entire careers.

Of course it's possible he fukks over everybody once he has a monopoly. But I don't see it. It seems like he has a genuine appreciation and love for the sport. And he's proving it with all the moves he's making. So I'm optimistic for now.

The level of smugness and arrogance of these promoters is crazy:what: its worst hearing it from Oscar because he was a fighter himself. He has no shame... I had the same opinion of Dana White but this boxing shot is up for the taking.. Oscar, Bob, Haymon, Eddie all had the opportunity to make boxing great but they squandeed it.. Now when the shyt is on life support and boxing cant even get a TV network deal.. now they wanna try work together :camby: Turkey Iron Sheik has done more for boxing in the past couple years than those clowns did in 2 decades..

That's right, what's lost on 90% of the public re sanctioning bodies, is they provide boxers with 'options'.

When there's minimal belts, there's minimal choice to pivot, negotiate or take control of your own/teams career.

Ultimately, having just a Ring Magazine belt / Zuffa belt means they 'completely control the narrative' of who fights, for what price, when and where. aka The UFC. This is entirely by design.

Oh you don't like that fight? You don't like the 50k flat rate? Too bad, there's no other options, we run this as a company now, take the fight or leave it.

Only stupid motherfukkers can't see this.

He will keep Dana's worst impulse at bay

And Dana needed him because the boxing pay structure is not a 25k fight night bonus :mjlol:
