That he's gonna get paid more than their entire roster (regardless of what the amount is) only validates the peanuts UFC fighters make.

He's not exactly a needle mover (maybe in the UK ) but this is a slap in the face for their MMA dudes who get FUKKED over.

it's only a 1 fight deal though. assuming they paying this much to make a big meaningful event Benn can just go back to Matchroom as a bigger name

If you never saw Cory’s 2 fights with Zab, they are pretty decent fights.

And make sure you watch the ring entrances for the rematch lol

Cory was definitely.underrated...no one really brings him up these days...Ward is the only one ive heard to really mention him because Cory was his "big bro"...and i agree with Dougie...if Cory had got that nod over taylor, he would probably be looking at a HOF nomination ...Cory was a pure boxer in his prime..but once his reflexes started going it got brutal for him

It helped his name recognition, but he got compared to them. Although Cory was a more consistently good fighter than his father, Leon was more exciting and a big personality. And despite Ali being a shell of himself in 78’, Leon still beat Muhammad fukking Ali for the heavyweight title.

And Michael is an ATG of the sport.

All this is just hyperbole to push Zuffa's core market/audience, eg people that aren't really into boxing, but into fighting and media content.

Benn/Opetaia/Ruiz , these names are being brought/signed to Zuffa to be lined up with bums for knockouts. Benn is a terrible boxer, but he's marketable because he is great at hitting the heavy bag, throwing haymakers and talking like a moron.

This is what we will all be having to watch moving forward in 5 years. This is the future of boxing. It's dead.

Cory is an underrated fighter. I thought he beat Taylor too but Jermain was HBO's guy at the time. He had a solid 5 year run.

Zuffa overpaying is exactly what DAZN (and to a lesser extent PBC) tried to do years back. Someone should pull up the purses that Tevin Farmer and Andrade were getting for absolutely horrid matchups.

Zuffa has the advantage of coming in at a time where the major promoters are seriously hurting, but I don't believe any single entity will have enough money to pull off what they're trying to do in the sport.

Floyd Mayweather vs Terence Crawford has the potential to be the biggest boxing match in the last 40 years.I don't think it will ever happen because I think Bud stands by his word of retiring and Floyd isn't going to risk his 0 against an opponent this tough at his age but......you could sell this fight with the tagline "Who is the G.O.A.T?" and it wouldn't be egregious.
