the belts have gotten so far out of hand now, and its only going to get worse. this is a case where the actual fighters need to disavow ALL belts and decide on one championship. lets say the Ring belt for instance. if there is a united front there is nothing the bodies can do about it. the name fighters have to agree to not fight for said titles. tbh, the multiple belts only exist to make fighters who otherwise would only be contenders in to champs. you can make money without the titles but the less talented are afraid to. Tank became the biggest name in boxing without really being a champ. The belt he had certainly didnt make him. Ryan made $30 mil in a fight where he didnt have a belt. On the flipside, Barrios became a millionaire all off of holding belts.

Boots team can fukk up negotiations if they want to, Devin wont. Boots and Vergil teams dont want to make fights...although Vergil is having issues with promoter. Xander is a good tough fight for either but tbh I think Xander style is more problematic for Boots than Vergil's.

Some folks think TR deal with zayas almost up and DAZN is pushing for big fights to sell their ultimate packages (why they were forcing ortiz vs boots with or without golden boy), so TR like we cash out, if he loses it is what it is and we have leverage, if he wins we have a star we treated well

That belt is even more fraught though? It's owned by DAZN/Riyadh/Zuffa and is effectively a promotional tool for the Saudi's and the broadcasting company. When the promoter dictates the terms re belts, then they dictate the narrative exclusively, that's the same as the UFC, for which there was not one fighter in the top 150 athletes paid for years 2024,25 or 26.

You sure that's a good idea? Once you do that, there's no going back, it's a company sport exclusively.

it was just an example (hence I said "for instance"). the point is ONE championship needs to be recognized above all others. keeping corruption and influence out of it is another story but you gotta start somewhere. Ring Magazine was around before any of these other belts, yes its owned by others now but what belt isnt in someone's pocket? they are all company belts, thats not what would make a belt bad. if the fights are put on like Turki has been helping with then its no worse than the others. Extorting sanctioning fees, not enforcing mandos, dubious rankings, unfair stripping, 3 or 4 versions of the same belt, thats just some of the bullshyt going on with the 4 major crooks now. Wont be any worse and at least you know who to hold accountable.

Zuffa isnt really a belt from my understanding but more of a trophy. I dont think at the moment its a claimant to the division's best fighter but they are tampering with it if other greedy bodies start stripping fighters for competing for a mere trophy. Zuffa champion is champion of what?
