WHAT THE fukk DID I MISS COTTO fukkING NUKED MY PARLAY :snoop:
Damn breh, thankfully I stayed away from this fight...

I was originally riding with Cotto because of the odds but 24/7 and Dibella got me off that...They did a great job making people believe Sergio was healthy showing him doing squats and shyt but I had a feeling something was up seeing this dude on the bike...Ultimately I was too iffy on Sergio's knee and there's no way I can put money on that...

Damn, I never thought about it that way, but you might be right. This would've been one of the biggest victories of Floyd's career and would've made him lineal champ in 3 divisions at once.

you not looking at this the right way. everything is circumstantial in sports...particularly boxing. this fight was a win-win for Cotto. he was basically limited on options from 147-154 because of TR guys fighting each other and GBP guys fighting each other....on top of the fact Cotto hadnt won a big fight in a while. he was on his retirement walk and it was a brilliant move to go after Sergio. if he lost, he still got paid the most he could possibly make at this time and no one would criticize him for losing to a legitimate MW champion. Let Cotto enjoy this instead of bringing Floyd into it. Floyd cant fight everybody. He started at SFW. Cotto at JWW. Cotto's style was better suited and his size. I dont think Floyd is sitting back saying "damn, I shouldve fought Sergio". Floyd wouldve likely beat Sergio but it probably wouldve been a closer fight due to the styles. Floyd is probably happy, because I think a Cotto matchup is better for him than a Martinez matchup. Floyd can come in at 150 and Cotto at 155. Its fukked up because its not true MW championship match but it is what it is. The main person who should be pissed about not fighting Sergio is GGG. Cotto's team saw this....GGG has had a long time to gun for this match. I dont think Cotto will fight GGG.

The vast majority of opinions including even Jim Lampley on the faceoff, were saying that Cotto was going to get that work. That Sergio is too big for him, Sergios style is too hard for him, and he will get knocked out. Nobody said that Sergio was just going to win. No they said Sergio would knock him out.

I stuck by Cotto because ive been a fan for a long time. But its crazy how once Cotto proves wrong all naysayers, it was a win/win fight for him, and he gets no credit cause he fought a washed fighter.

Give credit when credit due, yall said Cotto was going to get knocked out. Cotto looked sharp, and once Sergio felt his power he folded. Cotto decided to stay super disciplined and stick precisely to the gameplan, is why you didnt see a 1st round KO. But Cotto looked sharper, crisper, and more leverage in his punches than how he looked when he was undefeated, and to take this victory away from him is crazy.

ive been laughing though at all the anti-tito posts that have come up as of late...no fighter here is safe from ridicule lol

props to Cotto...but he was fighting a man who's body is obviously shot. bad knees, bad shoulder, bad hands. its Cotto's best and most defining win but thats where it ends. he has 2 A-fighters on his resume but both were past prime. we actually missed part of Sergio's prime because he didnt get the big breaks early on. Tito beat PRIME Oscar. Basically stopped Reid's career before it got started good. Beat undefeated Vargas. Beat Joppy. Those wins were better than mostly anything Cotto did. Cotto's win over Serge is similar to Tito's win over Pernell....but I think the Pernell win was much better because he appeared to have more left than Sergio, he just didnt have a belt. Plus he was still hard to hit. Now throw in guys like Blocker, Carr (who was just as good if not better WW than Zab), Camacho, Campas, Mayorga.

Cotto's resume is solid however. Serge, Shane, Zab, Paulie, Margs, Clottey, old Mayorga...but it still pales in comparison to what Tito was able to do against prime opposition.

breh, Carr was just as good if not better. dont be blinded by the fact he didnt win a belt. would Zab have been Quartey, Oscar, or Felix??? the WW division then was MUCH better than it has been leading up to now.
