Pretty much.
The Chicago Assembly has been around since like the 40's. My uncle was a past president. It's one of a couple of social clubs for black men in the city.

Member Organizations - Coalition of African American Leaders - Pretty much every successful black man in the city, who maintains ties to the black community, belongs to one of these organizations, if you also include the BGLOs.

Drinkhaus is popping, but it was kinda dead Friday. Coulda been because it was 830, could've also been there was a shooting 2-3 weeks ago outside of there. No dance floor, but that's cool because I'm a fukking disaster waiting to happen on the dancefloor.

They have a bar, high tops and a couple booths and tables that I think you have to reserve. Never noticed the 25+ thing, the music they play is a little older though...they were playing Candy Rain and shyt so there's that. But I'm 34 so 90s and 00s is my shyt.

It definitely isn't an old crowd if that's what you're getting at. Just no college kids in that mfer.

No, not necessarily. Members extend invitations to guest. So if you only have one seat at your table available and you extend an invite, that invite can't bring a +1 unless there is another seat open.
In general, its typically more women than men. Lots of single women show up and show out because they are trying to snag a boule nikka.
For the men, it's a bit different. Don't matter where you are at on the black economic totem pole, one thing we all like to do is stunt. Typically do that by pulling up in a nice whip and having a bad biddy on your arm. Obviously, that's only if you can secure a ticket for a +1.

But forreal, I'm not a member. My uncle was president but died a couple of years ago so I attend with my aunt and her daughter as it brings back memories for her and helps with her grieving process. I was invited to join this and another organization but I have a personal thing where I won't accept invitations to join clubs. For one, I'm not the type to like to be pegged as a certain "type", but two, it makes me appear a bit more mysterious and exclusive, from a branding stand point .
