Their ranked 6th in portal recruiting

6th because it's 33 of them. that's not a high quality haul, a bunch of 3 stars. that average per recruit isn't even top 25.

That doesn't make up for high school recruiting.
You need high school talent.
Portal talent is for filling holes.
Colorado has a lot of holes.

For handling the Big12 it might be ok.
When you get into higher competition it's going to get exposed.
19 of undefeated FSU's 22 starters last year were transfer players. This is a whole new era that we don't have enough data points on to make any real sweeping declarations about yet. This isn't 1995 anymore it's 2025, we've never seen what the implications of this kind of free agency in CFB will be long term so bringing up some ancient history doesn't really make much sense.

Breh, the point I made was Colorado isn't going to spend the money to get the top transfers. The elite ones.

FSU has no problem with doing that. NIL is not FSUs problem. Certain schools this doesn't apply to, because they have a big enough alumni base and enough support from alumni at big companies to be able to do it.

They have the second most incoming 4 star transfers in the entire portal. By the same token you're speaking from if you removed some of volume the average rating would increase the volume actually hurts them in that regard. Nevertheless they have a lot of quality talent coming in, it's on the staff to put them in position to be successful now.

What do you consider "elite" :patrice:

Not really sure what you mean by this. What "elite" transfers has FSU went and bought. I havent seen any of the guys who were truly blue chippers commit.to them... They lost out on Cam Ward to Miami and had to settle for DJU seemingly over the bag ... None of the 5 star transfers (Proctor/Nolen/Downs etc) paid them any mind.... So who are you actually talking about in practice... Not theoretically?

big example....Coleman the wide receiver that transferred in from Michigan State last year. He helped them win all of those games. Now he's gone to the NFL. The ability to get guys like that change your season.
Florida State never had a problem getting talent, and that has a lot to do with being in Florida also (The top producing state for the NFL). They shouldn't have a problem.

Coleman was just a 4 star transfer tho... He wasn't a 5 star top of the line guy...he wasn't even the top WR in his transfer class AD Mitchell was (and Travis technically) and FSU had no shot that that guy....but if that's what you're going off of... The Buffs got several 4 star WR transfers that's like their primary focus...Will Sheppard is a 4 star transfer and while older put up similar numbers to Coleman pre transfer as well. Like I see what you're trying to say but FSU isn't the example to use... The true blue bloods like UGA and Texas/ Bama even Oregon now would be better examples but they're always going to out resource most of the country still plenty of difference makers left tho.. They can't take them all in not enough reps to go around.

For example Penix wasn't some "elite" ranked transfer he was a 3 star but he turned that Washington program around. Same with Bo Nix also a 3 star...also Jayden Daniel's just a 4 star... All of them transfered the same year and none of those dudes were ranked top 10 for their positions in their transfer class.. Sometimes its about coaching to fit and environment not just getting so called high ranked names.

does it make Cormani look bad that JMJ transfer went through in a few days but Cormani is still out there?

No, he has an agent now and may land somewhere solid too. Only thing that matters is the end result of his college career ;’(as far as football). He should be solid because he kind of controls his trajectory.

Because he was littered with bad advice. The agent about to do damage control. They’re already stating SEC, Big 10 and Big 12 schools are now interested. Before the agent, he had schools falling back. The agent will help create legitimacy about Cormani commitment the game. He just will have to show it at his next place. He do that then he good.
