Brought a pistol grip shotty last week. Going to shoot it at the range tomorrow to see how it feels.

Anyone else own a CAA MCK? There's a Father's day sale. I got $136 off mine. I almost bought a 50 rd drum for it but slowed my role.

It's a bittersweet ordeal, however, I'm officially a gun owner now. My father passed away from cancer last month, so I've taken ownership of his Sig Sauer 1911 Nightmare .45acp
I'm still terribly busy organizing my dad's estate, but I plan on learn how to operate it as soon as I'm done. I'm definitely going to keep it stock until I learn how to disassemble/re-assemble & clean my gun and I have an ex-military friend that will help me with that.
My primary residence is in Texas (Dallas), but as of now I'll be in Oklahoma a lot; open carry in both states, so I'm good. Maybe sometime next year, I'll obtain the CC permit too.
My initial thoughts: The gun is beautiful to me... and a little on the heavy side, but Imma ride with it being my first gun. Admittedly, I don't lift, bruhs, however, I need to start. Lol
Opinions on the gun and/or advice?

Sorry for your loss breh. Pop's left you a great gun though, make sure you hit the range and get comfortable with shooting it and equipping/unequipping the safety since it's manual if it's gonna be you're edc.

My condolences.
A 1911 is not my choice for open or concealed carrying (I have 3 1911's). If you don't lift, a 4+ inch (Nightmare Carry) or 5+ (Nightmare) inch gun is probably going to be too unwieldy for your weak body.
Steel/aluminum guns are already heavy, and .45 ACP adds a lot of weight and takes up more space compared to other "better" carry calibers. .45 ACP is not any more effective than other calibers for 'defense', despite what folks on the internet might have you believe.
I could see you wanting to keep something of your dad's, but I'd leave it at home and get something else to walk around with if you're trying to carry.
I also don't do open carry but to each his own.
Went to a outdoor range out in LA today. This pistol grip shotgun is not going to work for me 
. Going to put a stock on it next week. That what I get for buying something because it look cool. Still need to work on shooting with my Hellcat but I did have fun pinking my H&K MP5 and my AR10. Hitting that steel made me feel when I was targeting 100 yards.
