Say brehs how is 2k8 on a next gen system? I'm still playing it on PS2 and was seriously getting a PS3 just to play 2k. My main concern is can you still download rosters and sliders after all these years?

i thought college hoops 2k8/nba 2k8 on PS2 were the greatest thing since sliced bread, until i messed around and got those games on xbox 360. its like the PS2 version but on steroids. but its even more realistic and helluva lot harder.

i'd imagine that theyre just as good on PS3.

My beef with this game, and I havent played it in a long time, is that it was too random. You could go into a game against an evenly matched team, lets say you were both ranked in the top 5...and if the game decided to it'd make you miss every lay-up and bunny around the basket. Halfway thru the 1st half you look at ur shooting % like Halftime ur down by 15 or something to the cpu.....2nd half you play to make a comback....now ur hitting ur shots, able to stop the CPU and you get the lead within 5.....then the game starts it's BS again and you miss an easy shot to tie it up or something.

I still have the game but dont play b/c it's maddening

The game really does punish you, if you try to go 50 in a blowout the cpu will intercept any ball going towards that players, missing point blank dunks on the fast break, throwing the ball out of bounds even though you were passing to your teammate 2 feet away, the game doesn't call kick ball, cpu using a screen near the top of the key can't be defended, cpu is the on, clutch time according to cpu means that dwight howard or any bigman can shoot a three to tie up the game, they blatant try to get a charge on you, and d-wade is unstoppable in the fourth

yea, the xbox 360 version is a throwback to old cartridge games in terms of difficulty. the PS3 version is prolly the same way.

am i the only one that adds all the notable freshman each year as i go along in dynasty mode?

im in year 4 in another dynasty mode. the one i play with other people(playstation 2 is our mutual system). theres alot of stacked teams. its to the point where theres rarely any upsets in the 1st 2 rounds of the tournament. but on the flipside, i would pay good money to watch these tournaments from round 2 on out. them chits is pay-per view worthy. at least 10 of these squads could prolly make the playoffs on the complimentary nba 2k season.

ALL I KNOW IS DERRICK ROSE & TYREKE EVANS HAVE TO BE THE GOAT BACKCOURT IN COLLEGE BASKETBALL HISTORY, AND THEY GOT ME A RING IN YEAR 3. and shouts out to willie kemp, who was like the 3rd best player on that squad but didnt get ported to nba 2k. im mad as f*ck.

edit: stephen curry didnt get ported neither and his rating senior year had me thinking he wouldve at least cracked the lottery.

freshman joe jackson my 3rd string point guard, getting garbage minutes but is the future of the program. the barton brothers lighting it up off the wood.

the 2011 nba draft is gonna be epic.

I CANNOT BELIEVE this thread. Like, this is arguably the weirdest coincidence in the history of LIFE.

I’m sitting at home RIGHT NOW (office is closed today because of the “snowstorm” ) getting ready to play a tournament with Creighton in 2K8 on PS3. I thought I was the only person in the world still playing this jawn every day. And then I just happen to log onto this hoe today, and here’s this thread.

am i the only one that updates the rosters on college hoops yearly?=

HELL NO. I mean, you can’t account for accuracy - as far as playing ratings - when you’re doing that yourself, but IMO you CANNOT play the game and enjoy it unless you have the REALISM factor covered. That’s why I always set the rosters each year.

in my mind, the media, internet, etc are constantly comparing us to the early '90s UNLV.....and they got a nice squad on here too. we beat them in the sweet 16 or maybe the elite 8.

too bad we didnt win the chip til year 3 tho. dorsey, anderson, douglas-roberts, dozier & sallie all missed out.

won it with willie kemp, elliot williams & shawn taggart as seniors. willie kemp wouldve been the team mvp if i didnt have rose. i was pissed when he didnt get ported for the draft to nba 2k. im still pissed.

i just pretend that willie kemp got booked for some guns right before the draft. thats what makes me feel better about him not getting ported. dude was literally playing like a 6'5 shawn kemp. when playing against somebody, i was asked if that was shawn's son.

i noticed that steph curry didnt get ported either. its gonna be funny if his brother ends up being a lottery pick.
