Why the hell would Batman join the child killing Riddler?

Because Riddler is capable of making a deal while there is no making deals with The Joker.
So by agreeing to help Riddler beat Joker, Batman can cut down on the carnage that is tearing Gotham City apart, lessen the body count and once Joker is taken out put the beats on Riddler and toss him into Arkham too.

That was spoiled a while ago on one of the gossip sites and I wasn't sure if I believed it or not. Guess that site got it right. I'm curious what the twist is going to be because I am doubting that will be the real dude once this storyline is done.
