He doesn't seem to be written consistent. In the ultimates series prior to 'square'. It's him, America, captain marvel, and his now gf (spectrum I think?) vs Thanos and he was slaughtering them until the gawd came thru and saved the day. Or even when the entire earth force sans mutant went to fight Thanos in Civil war II.
