I was tryna figure WTF it came from. Secret Empire switched perspectives quick as hell....sh!t turned into Bastian/Atreyu Neverending Story

Nah, X-Men so watered down and rehash crap. The Original 5 suck, they fighting rehashed villains like Mojo, Shadow King, Mrs. Sinister, Bastion. Cyclops, Wolverine, n Jean dead. X-Men franchise is a mess.

The X-men have come back something serious. X-Men Gold is good, AStonishing is good so far, Weapon X, Uncanny Avengers & Uncanny X-Men prior to this last rebranding were the 2 of the Top 5 Marvel books recently....I don't read O5 stuff though.

From what I've heard it's because they don't want to create new villains for Fox to use in the movies.
The only problem with the above is that any new villain that isn't a variation of an old one, or an X-men member's relative is instantly forgotten.
Do you even remember Erich Paine, Vargas, Neo or Pandemic?

I don't remember the 1st three...

Pandemic I only remember because it was during the run where Rogue was leading a team.

King said in interviews that he plans to use all of the New Gods universe in this book so I anticipate Norman showing up at some point.
Speaking of Norman he was just in a one shot (as part of DC's Jack Kirby anniversary celebration) called The Black Racer & Shilo Norman Special by Reginald Hudlin and Denys Cowan.

reboots are always messy. they may pull in some new readers at first, but egos get in the way and a lot of dumb shyt starts to happen. not to mention characters that you like may no longer exist.(guaranteed first patriot is gone for good) the last thing i want is bendis at the forefront of a new mainline marvel.

Marvel is bringing back the Patriot character as part of the aftermath of Secret Empire but its looking like its going to be a new character introduced in Sam Wilson: Captain America named Rayshaun Lucas:

There's supposedly a Marvel sale happening at Amazon (up to 80%) until 9/07 but I don't see anything that's dropped because Marvel is almost always on sale anyway.

Anyone ever read the two Hercules: Prince of Power mini-series from '82 and '84? I had all eight issues but I guess I threw them out in the last year or so. Bought the hardcover edition collecting both minis for $10 brand new off Amazon. Sadly, the books are no longer in print and Marvel has never released them digitally (they aren't even on their Unlimited service).

Didn't realize Bob Layton went on to do a third mini-series in 2010. Need to check that one out.

Anyway, anyone who is a fan of Giffen/DeMatteis era of Justice League would probably enjoy these books.
