Caught up on Batman last night (except this week's issue, which I'll read later).
That Booster Gold arc is some of the worst shyt I've ever read. Booster was always a goofball, but he meant well. King wrote him like a compete dumbass. His 'gift' to Batman is absolutely stupid and it makes zero sense why he would do that, and it completely contradicts the way he acted in the Booster Shot arc in Action Comics. Maybe there will be some more follow-up once they go back to the Bane stuff, but it felt like such a terrible, contrived way to get Booster into Sanctuary for Heroes in Crisis.
That said, the Joker/Catwoman story was a high point for the entire run so far, and it was one of the few times King's character studies actually worked.
I can't say the same about Cold Days tho. It started strong, but the ending seemed a little flat. I'm not sure how to reconcile everyone on the jury deifying Batman when so much of the Rebirth Detective Comics has been about all the collateral damage Batman, the Bat family, and their rogues gallery have caused.
