As a matter of fact, what are some affordable lawyers/law firms/consultations y’all would highly recommend to handle a Virginia speeding ticket on my behalf?

It’s very tempting to just pay this ticket since I’m really not tryna go to court in no country ass Caroline County 1 hour and some change away from my part of PG :hhh:

My ticket is a total of $203 ($196 + 4% fee). It’s not as high as I’d thought it would be (I was thinking $300+ since VA like to be on bullshyt) but again….Possibility of points and insurance hike if I pay it :francis: Wish it was just a damn speed camera instead of a cop pulling me over…Could just pay that bamma off and not worry about shyt afterwards.

Funny how they got my date of birth wrong on the ticket tho :mjlol:

Never again breh :francis:

Was the lawyer fee hourly? I ain’t tryna go to court but I ain’t tryna see no points on my DL (I have a pretty good driving record).

No it wasn't hourly, just straight up $200. He probably had a bunch on clients with traffic tickets on that court date, so he takes the tickets to court and gets the charges and fines reduced, with no points on the license.

In my case, they gave me no option of paying the fine, I had to show up, so that's why I got him to show up for me.

I think paying a lawyer to go for you will save you points and insurance money for years. You can google "caroline county va speeding ticket lawyer"

:ohhh: Does his practice cover Central Virginia (Caroline County specifically)?

Note to self (and everyone here), never speed in Virginia :francis:

Got pulled over in Caroline County (it borders Richmond) omw back home to Maryland via Rt. 301 this past Sunday. Cop was gonna write me up for reckless driving but decided to give me a regular speeding charge (55/35). My court date is Oct 27, 2021 and I don’t even know how much the ticket is yet since it’s still waiting to be processed til near the end of this week.

Have any of y’all dealt with VA speeding tickets?

My driving record is pretty clean…I paid both a DC speed camera ticket and a red light camera ticket in Hyattsville last year and those type of tickets don’t appear on your records so long as you pay them on time….I got into an accident back in 2014 or 2015, but that’s not on record no more thanks to Maryland only holding that against you for 3 years.

Some help would be appreciated y’all. I don’t wanna stress over it since what’s done is done but I’m really not tryna potentially have points on my DL nor see an increase in my insurance plan. This shyt’s been weighing over my head since Sunday night.

I've only been in the area for 3 years now but I've heard VA troopers and the speeding laws here are ridiculous. I think VA has the worst drivers compared to MD and DC. They had my boy face down on the ground a few years ago :pacspit:

:mjlol: fell victim to the good ol VA shakedown. It don't matter that you speeding or not, once dem troopers spot your MD tags, they'll follow.

In 2014, they got me going 90 on on a 70mph highway. The funny thing is the car I was driving at the time was a piece of shyt that couldn't go past 65mph without making hella noise. So tell me how im drving 90mph:stopitslime: Crooked ass cops:pacspit:

Anyway, they told me to come to court and no way im driving 4 hours from Silver Spring to Branchburg VA or some shyt like that for a judge to see my black ass and be like yep, he's guilty.

Went on the internet, found me a lawyer in that same county, fax over the speeding ticket and the lawyer fee of $200 for him to go to court for me. He got the "reckless driving" changed to "malfunctioning equipment". So I paid about $200 fine and $200 lawyer fee.

Don't you show your black ass in court:ufdup:. You not gon like the outcome.

@sankofa

Do this. Get a good lawyer from down there and follow their instructions. I've got family in Spotsylvania, VA right next door and the cops there ticket damn near everybody like it's the ticketing Olympics.

:wow:

Good luck to you breh.

If you taking 301 through Caroline & King George…you can’t drive like you in Maryland until you get to Maryland

there will be county police sitting in the medians waiting for anyone going 10 over the limit. That’s where I grew up…301 from 95 to the md/va bridge is one big speed trap.

Yep I was part of the 301 crew too and this is spot on. Virginia cops are everywhere both hidden and in plain sight at ALL times of the day and night.

This. Lawyers will reach out to you lol, if they haven't already. Explain what happened....pay the lawyer to get you out of the reckless driving case, pay the fine, and keep it pushing :yeshrug:

Happens a lot. I got pulled doing 81 in a 70 in Emporia smh....so they called that a reckless. Lawyered up and beat them charges like Rocky, no points on my license.

In Spotsylvania, VA, the cops also wrote tickets not only for speeding but they also set up traps for some of the most innocuous stuff too... Every time I went to my grandma's house, somebody would stop by talking about be careful because the cops set up "rolling stop" traps down the street where if you don't come to a complete stop at a stop sign and hold your car completely stopped there at the sign for a few seconds then they will give you a ticket for it being a rolling stop instead of a complete stop.

:martin:

Virginia cops will ticket their own mama to fill their quotas.
