I'm sorry the whole DC area doesn't have any good Caribbean food is overdone to the max now.

There's good places that have good food and places that don't. Same as in NYC, tasted some mid out there too, a lot.

I feel It takes time to build repertoire as an authentic spot and its hard now a days to play the long game....Plus this day and age people want to get eased in and get caught up in the glitzy trends to clout up on sm..Thats why blends are so hot rn....Even a lot of the authentic ethnic spots that are still around have been forced to dumb down or specialize their menu's...

But yeah yall drop some heat...I'm not even a restaurant person but iknow the area and a lot of these places ring a bell...Def gonna use it as a reference next time someone ask me in town..

I remember there was a bomb beef patty spot in that business building on new hampshire ave around that takoma langley area...It was a Senegalese spot right next to it too...Its funny cause my uncle been in that area since 84-85 when he bought his house right across from the ihop...He seen that area go through all its fazes..It actually use to have a pretty big black presence before the migos came in influx..I remember him telling they use to have legitimate Pro-Black and Pan-Africanist meetings with big name speakers at that same business building....Shouttt I got my first barber cut at sheilas and went there otr in my youth...I don't know if the barbershop next to where tick tock use to be is still open but that was another spot i use to go to...

I guess I'm biased. I rarely find myself over there.

There's the nice part of Union Station - which is great for DC tourists, not so much commuters imo.
There's the Amtrak Part - and even the H&M closed if I recall.
Then there's the underground - which gets decent business from the commuters, but it'd put their brand on the same level as Jersey Mike's. (No shade, I like JM's for what it is)

If the local news shows up to show the line, I'm glad to be wrong.

Yeahhh Union Station is weird....I'm old enough to remember when it was somewhat poppin but it has stagnated or struggled for a minute now...It also seems there trying hard to revive it despite the high turnover so all those name brand restaurants probably get a good deal compared to other areas of the city especially at the current rates...I'm sure if they see enough demand you'll see it pop up in Navy Yard or Dupont and I definitely saw it advertised on the evening news...
