Green Almond Pantry is an underrated spot in the back of small food hall on a side street in Georgetown. It’s Mediterranean, some of the best fresh made bread in the city. Everything made from scratch. James Beard semi finalist, that shares table space with a boba tea spot

I only really order the chicken salad sandwich and the marinara focaccia. The chicken salad has slice of seasoned chewy toast from fresh bread.

My FICO score went up just reading this post.

For the folks living in DC, do y'all feel its still very segregated?.... because I go down there often and feel it is. I don't live there though, but maybe in the future, so I'm trying to get y'all perspective.
I know this is old but got me thinking. I feel like it’s spots that are and spots that aren’t but the divide has become more apparent recently. Idk if it’s cuz I’m older or if it’s cuz the city changed so much in the last 10-15 years.

Ah ok. Yeah, its something I kinda noticed, but I don't live there full time and didn't wanna assume. My pov would be kinda skewed because I'm from NYC and where I live now is pretty mixed up and we are a mixed family. I think me and the wife will stay put rather than making the move out there to her parents old place. We like where we live and don't wanna move into a row house and have to live thru a renovation. Also our home value has soared and we wanna stay near the water. I've been researching though and there are some big development plans for DC.
Random, but DC reminds me alot of London (on a smaller scale) as far as architecture and walkability.

I was in the store when this happened. It sounded like something fell over, not a gun shot. It didn't have that sharpness that I'm used to hearing.

I was at the back of the store.

And then everyone started to move.

Some folks was out the door ASAP. I play the back a bit and move up cause I don't believe it. I keep going to grab some heavy cream. I'd say most folks are in disbelief and keep shopping. I'm finally rolling up to the front.

All the staff and the cashiers are freaking out. One female customer is trying to leave through the emergency exit, and the one overly graphic lesbian* cashier is telling her no.

*She is always talking about her escapades.

Not three minutes later, the whitest cops I've ever seen show up, guns drawn. One of the Giant employees is like, yes there was a shot, he's dressed in all black and still in the store.

I leave my "tomatoes on the vine" and bounce.

Tell security I'm leaving. I'm not sure why I did that, but the place was still full.

According to the article one shell casing was found, but nobody was arrested. If these dummies cause the nearest grocery store to close.....

I only got six months or so left on this lease, so I’m taking as many pics as I can of this view

You can see the Capitol on the left, Woodrow Wilson bridge over the Potomac river in the center, and the monument on the right
