@Blackthoughts
I appreciate the thread and it's potential bc I've been looking into getting into e-commerce/business online this year.
I've got some ideas as well so I'm looking for this thread to be popping.
I saw you said you were good in the marketing part of online business, what niche business would you say is really on the rise this year?

Anything that capitalizes off of peoples affinity for their phones is definitely where its at. The slightest enchancement to a smartphone can make you a multimillionaire. That's if you're thinking macro. If you're thinking micro then providing a service like cutting trees that have fallen due to winter weather can make you over 10 grand a month if you have a chainsaw. An associate of mine told me he paid a guy 1000 to cut two trees that fell at his house.

Capitalize off of this bad weather by providing a service for just under the average cost. If it snows where you are take advantage of removal.

Phone technology is definitely a great route. The second idea is DOPE too but I'm from the South. I know you said you didn't really specialize in Apps, but have you ever created one for yourself?

To get this started, here are the serious questions that need to be answered:

1. You have an online business, or you're thinking about one. Great. Now, after you've bought a website and have your content up, how do you get real traffic???

2. How do you keep from being ripped off? (i.e. someone stealing your idea and running with it)

Folks, avoid discussing bs in here and lets get straight to the point.

1. facebook/instagram ads, adwords, other ad networks

2. One of the biggest pet peeves of mine is people worrying bout this. It's a waste of time, energy and effort. If you're successful of course you're going to get ripped off, it comes with the territory. But if you're market is big enough then it won't matter

Nah I haven't but I recently thought of a dope ass app that would definitely be useful. I just have to find a way to get the intellectual property for it before I can sell the idea. I'll be doing that within the next six months.

The only way to prevent an idea from being stolen is to have it patented or trademarked. It'll cost you some money but if you believe in your idea you'll invest in it instead of buying a few pair of Jordan's and Ralph Lauren gear you can contact a lawyer that specializes in patents and trademarks and have them make it official.

Edit- Actually if you're first to commerce meaning you have proof of being the first person to sell that product you could win a lawsuit if someone steals your idea.

Brother doing his thing:gladbron::salute: I salute that. I just graduated Law School so we all got to get it. This thread is a positive step in that direction

I'm sure there's going to be differing opinions on this but I caution people into relying on patents and other intellectual property. They're expensive and can take alot of time. A patent can take anywhere from 3-6 years. And if you don't have 100s of thousands to to protect it, then it on't be worth much more than the paper it's printed on. Nothing beats a strong brand.

Now is the time breh. All you have to do is believe in yourself and do your research. The key is to find a target market and find something that's missing or that you can improve.

People in the past dreamed about days like this. You can own and run abusiness without ever having to leave your house. You can have a store without ever having to meet a customer. This very board that we're on right now is making money for a coulple of guys.

I know the Coli gotta make at least over a few G's a day in ad revenue alone. Cook and Brook can sit on their ass all day and make money off us talking shyt on here.

Now is the time brehs. Don't wait until you get old to think about what you should've done. Plan, plot and strategize like Pac said. If you fail then try again and at least you can say you gave it your all.

You're right. They are very expensive. The goal should be to own the patent long enough to sell it and or license it and let the corporations fight over it.
