Today's a great day to start a blog or eCommerce store.

Bluehost, a web hosting company I always recommend and use for my blog is having a semi-annual web-hosting special - today only.

The Basic Plan is usually $8.99/month for 12 months.

Today it is only $2.95/month for 12 months.

At less than $3, the brehs have no excuse to not get a blog up and running on the Internet. The lurkers too :birdman:

If you use the links above, I will get a small commission. If you thought about starting a site, today is the best day to do it this year.

Stop thinking about starting a blog and start one right now. It's easy, if anyone needs help shoot me a PM.

I've made almost $33k in less than 4 months selling personalized shyt on Etsy. After paying the Etsy fees and the manufacturer who makes the products, my takeaway has been about 3/4 of that. Not bad for part-time work (a few hours a day) and all done on my laptop and Adobe Illustrator.

For those who think they can't make money online sitting at home everyday... it's possible. I started with less than $100.

Like the rest, I'd like to learn more about this too.

:salute:

For those asking: basically you find a "print on demand" manufacturer who you can submit your designs to. Check out what they charge to create each product. Negotiate and/or ask about price breaks. You want to buy low, sell high. I chose to sell on Etsy because the traffic is already there v.s. a standalone website and trying to get traffic when you first start off. The reason I've been successful is because all my items are personalized so you can't get it anywhere else.

Example:

Take this t-shirt: Vintage Year Whiskey Person Funny Birthday T-Shirt
You see how it's personalized? So, the customer would need to message you the year and what they want on the shirt. I just used that shirt on Zazzle as an example but I don't suggest you sell your designs on there. Their commission is stupid low and I think you have to wait 60 days to get paid. Back to the shirt-- say your manufacturer charges $6 for DTG (direct to garment) for a shirt. Put your design on their t-shirt mockup or find a mockup to use (a lot of free t-shirt mockups on the net). List it on Etsy for like $20 or whatever. Charge shipping. Some manufacturers only charge you like $2 to ship your product for you but you can charge say like $5 on Etsy. So, $20 + $5 = $25 for the shirt. T-shirt expense is $6. Profit: $19. Minus Etsy fees (varies per item) can be like $1.50. Repeat. The more listings you have on Etsy the better because the more likely you'll be found in the search engine (on both Etsy and Google). Also, think about niches like wedding t-shirts, sports t-shirts, funny t-shirts, kid's t-shirts etc.

Also, you don't have to do just t-shirts. You can put your designs on whatever products you want (phone cases, mugs, posters, tote bags etc). Just make sure it's something the customer can personalize or a design that people haven't seen before. I would take the time to look on Etsy in the category you want to sell in and see who are the top sellers and study what they do (their pricing, their designs etc), just so you can get an idea. It's really simple once you get started and keep repeating the process of listing new products.

For those places I listed above you don't need money to start. The only expense would be Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop (or whatever program you use) and the Etsy listing fees which is like twenty cents to list your item in your store. If you don't have Adobe or know how to use it, you can go on Fiverr and have folks make t-shirts designs for you for $5. Then you just submit that design to your manufacturer. When you choose a manufacturer, you're assigned an Account Representative who's there to help you all the way because it's a win-win situation for both of you. So, any questions that you have make sure you ask them. Again, it's free to start with a Print on Demand company but you just want to find the one that works for you.

I got a Mother's Day t shirt idea and was gonna try to do it like this but Etsy talking about you gotta fill out an application for third party manufacturers and the information they need looks detailed as hell. I won't be able to get this shirt out in time. I'm gonna shoot for something for Memorial Day weekend.

That's a good idea fam. Yea, the application is no biggie tho. I had to fill it out and they just want to know if you're actually designing your products and who's making them. This is to prevent the mass influx of people buying junk from Aliexpress and selling it on Etsy as "handmade." All you need to do is tell them who's your manufacturer. What I did was screenshot my Adobe Illustrator screen of me making a design (proving I'm actually creating the designs) that I send off to get printed on products. That's it and I got approved fairly quick.

I would say definitely for t-shirts make sure it's niche and trendy like cat t-shirts, funny employee t-shirts, funny birthday t-shirts, wedding t-shirts etc. A quick cheat code you can use is see what people are buying is at Zazzle. If they're buying it on Zazzle, chances are they'll buy it anywhere else that sells that type of shirt. You want to make stuff that people are ALREADY buying. I'm telling you if I were you I would make simple ass t-shirts with funny sayings. That shyts sells like crack for whatever reason. The cornier the better it seems.

Funny T-Shirts - Funny T-Shirt Designs | Zazzle.co.uk

T-Shirts, Unique T-Shirts, Tops & Shirts | Zazzle.co.uk

I just used Zazzle as an example just to see what's selling but I still strongly recommend you sell on Etsy because the TRAFFIC is there already. I mean you could upload your designs on Zazzle if you want but you're profit will be pennies and you will have to wait months to meet the commission payout. As far as Etsy-- just make sure you have a large assortment of t-shirts so you can be found in Etsy and Google otherwise you're competing with established t-shirts sellers who have over 1,000 t-shirt designs in there shop (no lie) and have been selling for years on there. That's not to discourage you because there is money to be made on there if you're consistent. Hell, even during Christmas time I saw a new t-shirt store make those dab Christmas shirts and went viral. They only had like 20 t-shirt designs but was selling hundreds of them. So, they took a trendy idea and re-made it their own way and it took off.

Another cheat code: CraftCount
See who are the top sellers in whatever category you want to sell and basically do the same thing. Not copy, but see what they're selling, why, their policies, their designs etc.

Lastly, here you can see what's trending on Etsy: Trending Items. I don't really pay attention to that because Etsy only puts you there if one of your products is getting a lot of traffic. I know this because one of products was on the trending page and I got an automated email from Etsy telling me my product was getting a lot of traffic. It was kind of cool but it didn't translate into sales because this happened like 3 weeks after I opened shop and I didn't have many products available yet. With Zazzle the top sellers are actually what's selling the most. With Etsy customers, they like shops with a lot of listings, good reviews and established shops. If you get a lot of sales and your reviews pick up, customers will ignore that you're new because they'll see that you're "legit". I know this because I've only been selling since the end of December 2015 and I've sold almost $40k as of today. So, it's possible if you're consistent.

Hope that helps.

I'm not familiar with the book/publishing game breh. But I do know the marketing game and a huge part of viral marketing is introducing yourself to your customer where they are. For instance, if someone wanted to market anything in the hip hop realm to potential consumers virally they would meet the consumer where the consumer already is which is sites like The Coli, WSHH, Allhiphop.com, Datpiff.com etc.

That's part of a marketing plan. Forecasting where your consumer is and how to reach/appeal to their wants and needs.

You need some guidance. You don't know what you are doing b. Hit my PMs if you want some real help. We can talk over the specifics. I just dropped my new book last week. But that's after I did what I can teach you.

Dude, it's always darkest before the light.

You gotta keep pushing.

Just think about it. J.K. Rowling was a poor ass single mother on welfare right before Harry Potter blew up. NOw she's damn near a billionaire. This is the shyt that tests your mettle.

When you get rich, you're gonna look back at all the struggling and spending money on shyt that seemed to go nowhere, but really prepared you for success
