DISCLAIMER: In the 10 or so years ive been a gamer, ive always been a sony hater. Ive only played/owned the xbox's, and nintendo consoles. However, i am an open minded individual, so know when reading this that my perspectives are as neutral as possible. Knowing what i just said, you will be surprised by my opinions stated here (hint hint: im getting the ps4)
Summary of E3 so far (imo)
Best E3 in the last couple years, lots of promising new IPs
Now to the interesting part
Microsoft: Xbox One is great for you if- You like spending 60 bucks on pixar movie lookin games that probably would only be appealing to preteens (atleast half the games they debuted fit this description), You have a fetish for fukking yourself over (srsly, ps4 beats xbox one in pretty much every area), if you want to spend 100 more dollars for something worse than the competition, if you feel its necessary to tell your console to start up as opposed to using the controller like a lazy american, or if you feel the need to have a console double as a cable box. Lastly, if you really, really, REALLY like halo even though 343 sucks compared to bungie
Nintendo:Wii U is:GREAT if you are an oversized, overburdened, 16-3hunna aged child, great if you get a boner at the mention of ocarina of time/any mario game, if you have money to blow and like to play mario kart wit the bros, or if you like to game with the family. Basically, nintendo continues to completely alienate the core gamers, and also continues to demonstrate their desire to stay one generation behind the competition. Seriously, they pretty much bombed this E3 also, no new reasons to buy the wii u or 3ds.
Sony: PS4 is right for you if:You have a decent or better grasp of logic, and if you dont fit the above catagories, and if you dont like supporting a company that essentially told everyone in the world that theyre trying to glean every dime you have from your wallet.
Essentially, Nintendo continues to do what theyve done for the last few years, which is sega-ing themselves. Sony is laughing to the bank and winning the hearts of the whole non-partisan gaming world. And Microsoft decided to emulate the large corporations that are currently destroying the world, by fukking everyone over. They also decided to make really bad decisions (continue making the kinect seem relevant and as a result going for the middle road between casual gamers and core gamers (hint: no one occupies the middle road)
, getting rid of used games and thus revealing themselves as thieving gypsies
, making a bunch of new but clearly bad IPs
, making their graphics all super bright and cartoonish to continue reaching for that nonexistent middle road
, and lastly by making a media based console that no one wants because people dont buy consoles for that unless its netflix or bluray
