'shythousing' is just part of the game, or 'game management' if you're a manager.

England used to have that holier-than-thou attitude as well and it got them nothing but heartbreak.

You learn to love/admire it when you truly follow the game, though obviously it's always frustrating as fukk when it's happening to your team.

:mjlol:

I played the game until high school (defensive midfielder who eventually got pushed back to sweeper cause my ballhandling wasn't up to par) and I can't imagine ever doing this myself or having respect for a teammate or opponent doing it at any level.

You might as well say that purposely injuring opponents or effectively circumventing drug tests is an admirable part of the game. It's a sport, not fukking theater.

Have there been any quality WC ads/commercials this year? Haven't seen anything - well haven't seen anything that can come close to this one that Puma released in 2010

Sport in itself is theater, the drama, the suspense.
Begrudgingly I can now appreciate how an Italian can use his body to initiate a foul, then waste an additional 30 seconds pulling up his socks before taking the free kick. It's an art.

IMMIGRANT TETHERS
With Pogba, Nkuku and Bezama missing, I feel France have gone from 120% guarantee winners to very strong contenders.

No one thought they’d still play as fluidly as they are. Best performance of the WC so far.

Variance should be a bench player; Konate and Umpachano are a great pairing.
if Dumbchamp would have brought in some different profile of midfield to replace Pogba instead of usual workhorse, I would have still had them with Brazil to win. But I feel like the lack of creative/registra profile midfielders (like Caqueret and Aouar) will bite them in the ass against pressing teams like Germany and strong defense like Portugal and Brazil.

IMMIGRANT TETHERS
bout time that overated cac does something
and he didn't even have that great of a game. he just didn't fukk up.

his standard for great game is putting in a shift defensively, making a good run for the end of a good pass and crossing/passing the ball in the box. :unimpressed:

I'm mad as fukk they won big, it's gonna give Dumbchamp more incentive to play him :mjcry:

I don’t mind embellishing if it’s like Bale drawing the foul on Zimmerman. That’s a heads up vet play. Bale could have got out the way or made a move towards goal but he took the penalty. Pulisic did the same against Mexico to win the Nations league. I also don’t mind embellishing if your team is tired or the other team is building momentum and you need to pause the play to get situated and get some calls or subs in.

However Wales was hitting the deck against a team who had subbed its best players in and had 5 MLS/Turkish league guys in the game just to get a draw. I’ve been in the stands when the USA played Honduras in the Nations League and Honduras was stopping play every 5 minutes faking an injury. It ruins the sport and is the most feminine behavior imaginable. It ruins the last 15 minutes of every soccer match.

If it helps your team win, then it’s whatever :manny:
