this is how people used to talk about the european cup.

the english first division didn't even bother to enter the first european cup

today's "distraction" becomes tomorrows premier competition. that is the hope with the world club cup btw.

" English champions Chelsea initially agreed to compete and were drawn against Swedish side Djurgården; however, under pressure from the Football League, who saw the tournament as a distraction to domestic football, they later withdrew from the competition,"

Exactly.... I'm done with the ninkumpoop FIFA, Balance Sheet FC, and Hot Take new fans who have no appreciation for trophies........ they all showing their spineless, lame, sad selves..... too much energy being spent on having to lower the footy IQ to converse with them... :hhh:. :camby:

i remember a time where " big clubs" were ashamed of playing in any euro competitions outside the UCL
I remember Arsenal being clowned when they didin make top 4 and had to play in Europa league.
Now these "big clubs" are bragging about winning the conference league? Now a trophy is a trophy huh
Make this make sense
fukk it... sack Arteta. Get some scrub as a manager, so we can finish 6t-8th and have a better chance at a trophy

Europa is a lot of money and it's tied to Champions League qualification. It's tremendous for Spurs that they won it and bad for Man U that they didn't..

I was mainly talking about Chelsea. Their fans were talking shyt about Arsenal when they were outside top 4
Spurs is not a "Big club". Europa league means the world to them.

Chelsea, Tottenham, crystal palace

London is red :beli:
Meanwhile the rumours mill will be rife with talk of Arsenal acquiring a striker, before we settle on a defensive midfielder to play up front and Arsenal fans sell us on how this might just work...

:beli:

Playing in comp was always good for laughs but winning it was never looked down on.

Winning these lower competitions is like winning the Community Shield. If you win it, it counts if you lose it you ignore it. Arsenal fans should be very familiar with that.

Idk... the minute the fans lower their expectatios is the minute a club starts falling off.
This win will hurt spurs as a club. When a manager has 21 L's in the prem and they're saying this season has been a success the board will take notice and say "fukk it" lets save some cash "fukk it" lets not buy that player
