IF he wins AOTY or anything outside "Best album performance" riots will happen all over Hip Hop forums.

I'd be fine with him winning Best Rap Performance. I'd disagree, but I'd understand it; Thrift Shop is a good song, catchy, etc. Hell I don't remember the last time I heard mainstream radio playing a rap track with horns like that.

I'm mainly focused on rap album. Macklemore is on record saying GKMC should win - you can tell he knows what's gonna happen. He's gonna clean up at the Grammys brehs, everything. Maybe even album of the year, and definitely song of the year.

I don't hate Macklemore. And I think he gets too much hate here due to his race. He's a backpack rapper getting mainstream success, that's big imo. BUT...The Heist is not a noteworthy album. I'd be fine with him winning "best new artist" considering everyone who wins that award disappears in a couple years lol.

Macklemore will literally win everything. Dunno why people believe otherwise.

I initially thought he would sweep but if you go look at the history of the grammys that generally does not happen. Adele I think is the only person who recently swept across major categories but she really deserved it.

Apparently hot 97 has it pegged that Kendrick won AOTY and that he received over 100 votes. I'm not too sure how factual their sources are and is be surprised as hell if he wins Over Daft Punk and flavor of the moment Cacklemore but it would be a big W for Hip Hop if he did.

It wouldn't be to farfetched imo. Its hard for somebody to win it twice especially in such a short period of time (only U2, Stevie wonder, and Sinatra have done that) canceling out Taylor Swift. The Sara Baiselles chick is even more of a longshot to win it than K.Lamar is, I don't think a single person has even brought that album up in discussions.
Leaving Ram, GKMC, and Macklemore. My thing is if Lamar wins best Rap album, then how can they give the nod to Macklemore over him for Album of the year. I was trying to look up info on two albums being nominated for AOTY and in their respective genres categories but its alot of research, there's just no clear list on past grammy noms and winners.

I think they'll give Macklemore song of the year for same Love. As popular as Macklemore is, he's not the sweep in all categories type of artist. Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are probably more popular and they didn't do it.

Babel won AOTY last year but lost in its own genre category because the support of the community wasn't there.
Arcade Fire won AOTY in 2011 and lost in their own genre category.
