I work at a hospital and I can cosign this. Doctor's in general are pretty much all a bunch of fukk boys

On the flip side hoes get extra cooperative when they think you're a surgeon . This broad saw my badge and asked me what I do at the hospital. I lied and said I was a cardiothoracic surgeon with a specialty in childhood carcinoma. Breh, ole girl got moist right before my very eyes

I say surgery's the worst for a few reasons, one the other are terrible. Most of the old surgeons in this hospital are already divorced, you have to come in at the crack of dawn and work till late at night. I've been in surgeries that were over 10 hours man
The second reason is surgeons are ass holes, now I know I'm painting with a wide brush but surgeons by and large and mean and egotistical. They love yelling at people and tearing them to shreds, I actually almost failed my surgery rotation because my chief resident was such an ass and he hated my guts. I'm pretty sure he was a racist as well.

Probably the biggest reason I'd be against surgery though is number 2, my old classmate went to Howard med school and is now an ortho (super competitive) resident, he had a co-resident who was also black who got kicked out of the program and I asked him why, he said they made his co-resident hate his life until he made mistakes and they could fire him. He says they tried to do the same to him but he was able to keep it together. in general people in medicine are less jerks and nicer all around, I'm going into PM&R which also has a good work life balance to boot

My brother just graduated from UCLA med. He wants to be an anesthesiologist. He said they pay the most and do the least.

That nikka is now traveling europe instead of going straight to intern and I have a strong belief that it's because he's following my lazy ass.

I think he just wants a year off, but now that my sister graduated from Xavier (pharm school) I'm hoping he'll get back on his grind and realize being a doctor is better than what I do. lol.

congrats tho man, that is quite a commitment, I've seen how both of them study and that shyt is wild.

Lol pretty much, nah just expect her to be distant, not responsive and then want to come and jump your bones when she's on break. Hopefully she's not into white dudes I seen a couple sisters go to the "light side" in med school.

I had around a 3.7 in undergrad and I score a 31 on my mcat.
It's pretty tough being a black male esp if you're taller and heterosexual. The thing is that to get good evaluations you have to voice your opinion a lot but you can't come across as aggressive bc you're black in my school where we actively recruited black ppl we had 1 black male graduate last year (Jamaican dude) this year well have 4 and the graduating class is like 220 or so.
Basically every black male I know has had someone try to impede them the thing is these ppl are so passive aggressive and duplicitous , they'll see you doing something repeatedly smile in your face and then write you up about it. There's a ton of unwritten rules and unless you have a man on the inside you can only find out by making mistakes

After 5 years in the frigid north east (spent an extra year getting a masters) I'm finally going to be rid of this place! For the first time in 10 years (5 years undergrad + 5 post grad) I'm going to be a functional member of society (somewhat) actually getting a paycheck and what not!
It's been a long hard road to freedom, and I appreciate all that the Coli (and SOHH) have supported me in my journey to become the most dangerous man in America: an educated black man! I'm going to up date this thread when I found out where I matched and gonna post pictures from my graduation too!
This is a momentous occasion!
