Spain joins group of countries threatening to boycott Eurovision if Israel competes

Spain has joined the group of countries threatening not to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest unless Israel is excluded from the competition over the war in the Gaza Strip.

Spain joined Tuesday the group of countries threatening not to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest unless Israel is excluded from the competition over the war in the Gaza Strip.

The Netherlands, Ireland and Slovenia had already taken the same stance. Spain’s addition to the list puts more pressure on both Israel and the European Broadcasting Union, which organizes the popular contest.

Spain is one of Big 5 countries that pay more for the organization, and qualify directly to Finals.
Their boycott would significantly jeopardize the Eurovision financing next year.


It is important to isolate Israel from music events and sport events in the same way that Russia is sanctioned.

I'm not going to go back, but I made the point here that the response to Oct 7 has affirmed a new modern counter terrorism approach.

Meaning that leadership will be attacked anywhere and it appears that citizens will be held culpable for leadership.

Finessing revolutions means nothing anymore and the conservative response to high military spending is to use it instead of threatening it.

I was listening to Krystal Kyle & Friends with Joy Reid, and she got really honest about how hard it was—even for her and her own kids—to stomach voting for the Biden administration, given everything happening in Gaza. She said Kamala Harris seemed to have a different stance than Biden, but her loyalty to the administration ended up pulling her down with it. Reid didn’t hold back: she said the way Biden and his team viewed Palestinians felt blatantly racist and dehumanizing to most in her circle. She even said that if she had to vote for him again, she’s not sure she could do it considering this was a grandstanding issue. She also pointed out how out of touch our foreign policy is—especially when it comes to Russia and Israel. To younger people, it’s painfully obvious that these positions don’t line up with their values. she believes kamala lost over her refusal to distance herself from biden.

Doesn't sound good and Hamas isn't putting up much of a fight. Hamas seems intent on sacrificing as many civilians as possible to maintain control at any cost and I'm not seeing a lot of alternatives be put forwards to prevent that.


Wasn't Trump supposed to be backing Palestine to the hilt going into this and now he's completely disinterested at best.
