Not a one to one comparison but the War in Iraq happened because of 9/11. Some estimates say a million died because of it
The War in Iraq is a massive stain on Dubya's legacy. It was initiated by a lie told at the UN that Saddam had bioweapons (his favorite negros Condoleeza and Colin ran interference for that lie). And there was no linkage between 9/11 and the Iraq War. That was just an excuse for US imperialists and Zionist adjacents to take Saddam out and go after the oil. EVEN THEN the casualties were a result of war and slow attrition, NOT deliberate bombings of civilian centers. There were IEDs going off in Baghdad... The US army didn't launch Tomahawks or drop 2000 lb bombs at civilian districts in response!
There WAS a direct linkage between 9/11 and the war against the Taliban in Afghanistan. And for all the fukked up shyt the US did, it doesn't come close to what Israel did in Gaza because the US military conducted warfare (or tried to) in coherence with the Geneva Conventions which include a stipulation that civilians are to be left untouched.
They had credible evidence Osama was in a compound in Pakistan and they didn't just drop a bomb, they put American soldiers at risk to conduct a targeted operation that minimized civilian casualties.
The closest parallels to what is happening in Gaza are not recent US operations. The closest parallels are what happened in Darfur in the early 2000s, or in Rwanda in 1994. Which are universally known as genocides. Do you see the difference, and can you stop trying to pretend that the US would commit genocide in response to an attack, despite evidence to the contrary?
You have me in here defending US military operations. I was going to go on a roll about how they could have gone even more HAM in South Vietnam. Jesus fukking Christ, how much is the devil's attorney office paying you?
