people were in here saying nah, can't be the money, arguing like hell for these boys
whole time it was because of the business was funky. Rory even joked about "what's this 70 grand on the accounts" in that sing song bit about them dissing Joe on the last pod.
listen if my skinny con artist ass could casually find out from somebody at Anchor (lets call Spotify's indie podcast division) that Mal and Rory had no idea that Joe had a clause that he could replace them at any time and that Joe would only reup with Spotify if he got the "Head of Creator, Podcaster Mission" role. also, both Rory and Mal also apparently were to get their own music/radio style podcasts that Spotify are doing now if they resigned.

Not only that, Rory probably didn't breach anything in that bullshyt contract which means he probably opened himself up to litigation.

This nikka Joe told Rory to go make his own YouTube channel with leftover podcast visuals.
Imagine showing up and building a podcast that you don’t have ownership in, and you’re not getting paid for, all the while listening to your boss rant twice a week about suits not respecting the creator.
Rory and Mal aren’t loyal they’re stupid as fukk.
My understanding is they had a contract. They got paid based off that contract. They were employees. Nothing less nothing more. Joe owned everything and felt there was no questioning to why he owned everything (the podcast is named after him). Joe's the boss, Mal and Rory were the employees. That's his view on it. For them to even ask for anything else when they have a contract, Joe feels is disrespect.
