My understanding is they had a contract. They got paid based off that contract. They were employees. Nothing less nothing more. Joe owned everything and felt there was no questioning to why he owned everything (the podcast is named after him). Joe's the boss, Mal and Rory were the employees. That's his view on it. For them to even ask for anything else when they have a contract, Joe feels is disrespect.
Tbh outside of showing up they didn’t contribute nothing, they were talent. It cost money to run a podcast. To be salty at the people behind the scenes working their asses off to make sure the pods looks professional is some corny shyt

The year 3030
your man said he was on a muscle relaxer so thats why he just let Mal and Rory get their shyt off on that episode without any real pushback

"Marissa was my assistant, lived with me, fell in love so we ended that but kept close friends."
"yous lived together" - Parks... "No! He lived with me", "Mal was buying detergent and keeping it in his room"
"Rory came at the end of the road...I don't know you"

:mjlol:

lmao...nah, this guy is nuts.

it had been insulting to him that Rory wanted to own part of it since it before the Spotify deal.
Joe been lowkey had a distaste at stuff Rory and Mal were arguing all the way back at first things Spotify were demanding. especially Rory.

hes treating Mal like a bum but what the hell happened that he has all of a sudden wanted to air Rory out ?
said if Rory was there, he wanted to ask Rory if he was a liar, did he mean to dislead etc.

was actually surprised he only knew rory a year prior to podding.

always seemed like they knew each other at least 3-4 years before that

That’s all whatever in a vacuum but it doesn’t fly when we add the context of Joe’s supposed views on “Creators”. Joe practically signed his own people to a bad deal while condemning every corporation in existence for signing people to bad deals.
This nikka in a nice ass house with a personal chef, going on vacation while his guys aren’t seeing any steady income from the work they’re putting in.
If Joe was about what he speaks on, Rory and Mal would’ve never been in this situation to begin with.

their salaries were six figures... wtf you talking about? they wanted ownership and cuts from every pot. that doesn't meant they were "not getting paid"

My nikka, there’s before and after the Spotify deal. Joe even says that Rory asked for a cut of YouTube years ago. That deal doesn’t negate all the rest of those seemingly unpaid years.:heh:

Sounds wild, but if this is the case why the fukk were Mal and Rory around so long and what was actually in their contract if they didn't have info on the YouTube or Spotify deals?

I mean people talk about Joe being how he is, but they actually know him so the fact this fukkery was going on so long is so is baffling but explains why they probably been heated since the Spotify deal went through. Joe doing State of the Culture, Pull Ups and all kinds shyt and they got to sit there hearing him shyt on a multi million dollar deal because of..... Sh!t I still don't know :pachaha:

But hey all this has been entertaining so Im not mad at nobody to be honest. People been saying Joe a piece of sh!t for years so can you be surprised when he acts that way. I haven't heard the new pod but the non compete thing is probably the wildest part. Joe really sick bruh lol, won't give them no details behind the money, but telling them they can't leave and start they own sh! t...

But what about creator equity? :russ:

both came on for free because they wanted to be there you can't complain in hindsight shyt make no sense . the unpaid years were before the deals. how can you get paid with no deals? you realize mostly every podcast start off doing it free. drink champs, combat jack etc until they get sponsors and an eventual deal... the upaid years are part of the process that's why they got spotify monies and the money they were getting now for sticking it out. their discrepancy is in claiming that they should have ownership of whatever it is they built together. joe believe the network is his solely. you arguing about the grind process at the start makes no sense.

same reason why Gillie and them fired their engineer cuz dude tried to bill them back to the start of the pod after they got a deal. after they had all grinded for free to make a come up he didn't want a salary of 70k he wanted a part of the show and to be paid for his studio usage from day one.

situations are very similar. this isn't a joe thing

combat jack show fell apart when the money came as well...

These creators gotta ask themselves, "if Joe would do that to them, what would he do to me if things go left "

Everybody was laughing but the way he did Marissa was foul. Joe has a history of blowing things up and not taking accountability. I’m a fan but there’s no way I’d go into business with him.

I can’t believe stans were tryna cape for his Spotify contract actions. nikka had no tact or business sense and was just rambling. And now here we are
