If Joe can do it with just anyone, how come nobody remembers the 100+ episodes before Mal came on. How come the pod didn't pop off until Mal came on? He had 100+ episodes with him, Marissa, Rory, Rosenberg and random guests, but he didn't get nearly as many views until it became strictly him, Mal, Rory and Park chimed in more.

Podcasts were new to people. Now everyone listens to pods. They didn’t film at first so it’s no point to listen on YT back then

I agree.

After he left ES viewership went from 150k to damn near 400k on a regular basis.

Complex deserves a cut for the promo :troll:
yeah Ak really helped Joe grow his audience more than anyone IMO

he brought a big ass audience with him when they started Everyday Struggle and alot of them started rocking with Joe and still do

what if (IF)

the people you employ are not “artists”

for the sake of a counter argument, if Mal and Rory signed agreements to be on air talent, they aren’t “artists creating projects” they are hosts on a show. AJ and Free didn’t own equity in 106 and Park, Carson Daily didn’t own equity in TRL (yes I’m :flabbynsick:)

I think what gets lost in all of this is that from Joe’s eyes, HE is the one that “created” the show, has seen it through many iterations (Joe and Marissa, Joe and Rory, Joe Rory and Mal, JRM and Parks, JP Ice and Ish), and everyone else works for him. They aren’t “creators” but rather employed talent.

If I start a restaurant and front the money and leverage and negotiate the price for food and pay my friends to work there from day 1, my friends may “feel” like they are owners because they worked hard, but if I paid them as employees that’s all they are.

Not defending Joe because it seems like scumbag behavior, but rather just providing insight as to how business owners might see their business.

This is completely different than an artist writing their own music, recording it, and then signing a deal with a label to distribute it and then feeling bad when they signed a vulture deal. This sounds like Joe was the owner, he was the one negotiating deals, and busting it down for his employees. When his employees thought that they should have equity, it seems he’s like :camby:
i dont disagree with you even, its just the way joe goes about it is terrible, and if you dont want them to have the equity then you at least need to be honest with them and show them hey you dont have it this is the deal not running hidding hands but talking a good game

Wouldn't it be because it's His YouTube page, and they could've made their own and show the pod on their own channel as well as other things they would be doing as well.

knowing Joe Budden do you honestly think he would let them start something like that without getting a % of that. He would have that in their contract on some 360 deal

He made Mal look like freeloading leach ass bum. They might not be friends no more after this

That detergent line should have never came up.

:francis:

Patreon is the next big thing, tho?

He's boasting about being independent but kindof complaining about having to put money up while also boasting about having so much money that he doesn't even touch his YouTube income...lol. this nikka all over the place, man:yeshrug:

he capping bout that. Joe Budden YT money is what’s been keeping him afloat before Spotify and Patreon.

Because it’s Joes YouTube channel that he had before the show started. Why would he give them that money?

He had them on contracts and paid them well for their contributions, why wasn’t that enough? Why couldn’t they start the “mixy boys YouTube or something like that?

because they weren’t getting paid “well” for their contributions.

Listened for a good two hours. I gotta say, as a person who works a real job probably getting paid less than Rory and Mal, these nikkas come off as entitled and ignorant on how business works. They come on the pod and talk about nothing for 6 hours a week and get paid more than what most Americans do and have the gall to trip about how much they're getting paid.

This is big ‘athletes get paid millions to play a child’s game’ energy. Big ‘dog or truck as your Twitter avi’ energy

The record labels, Spotify and Verizon would say the same thing to Budden.

This is what has me blown is that Joe is always the loudest one talkin about equity, and confused why companies won’t give him equity when ‘he helped build the platform’. How does he have the stones to think he deserves Spotify equity or Clubhouse equity, but won’t even break down the brick on a fukkin podcast w/ his own ‘friends’ who were instrumental in growing the podcast or the little ‘platform’ as Joe likes to call it. The success of that podcast w/ the 3 of them specifically, is the only reason he’s even able to create this ‘network’ of podcasts that nobody really listens to, besides the one w/ them 3 :snoop:

The old adage all news is good news is def true for Joe

its funny because he insults the clout chasers but joe does a lot of it and always has ..maybe not for clout but for clicks and to get people talking

Joe really was visionary with joebuddentv ....he just sells out his people most chances he gets or throws them under teh bus....at the end of teh day this is all good for joes product more clicks more views

All we see is the end.

IF (if) it went down how Joe said then I’d be hot too :yeshrug:

who are the employees to want receipts of the business.

if I’m paying you what we have contractually agreed to, what does it matter?

Rory brought a 1500 MeUndies ad and talkspace ads, that ain’t ownership quality when Joe has negotiated them to the point where they are making 6 figures each
