Blame savon, he literally looked it up for them in real time and that’s what he gave them. Savon is the man at his own podcast, and then comes to this podcast to be an intern. The oft disconnect between him and the budden podcast is hilarious sometimesWhy are they pulling some of these numbers outta their ass and others correct on 329, Kendrick did 600k, Travis did 537k and Cole did 400k.

This "if you are not a rapper you can't judge a rapper" is some bullshyt, a lot of times fans listened to a lot more music than rappers themselves.
It's the people who give "masters" their "master title". Unlike sports, this is fully based on opinions. If this shyt would hold, then unless you are a master chef you can't say what nice food is, unless you're a programmer you can't say what a cool tech product is, unless you are director you can't tell people what a good movie is. A director can't tell an actor what a good actor is. shyt's stupid. He just started saying this when reviewers started giving his trash albums wack reviews after TC and F&L.
I agree with Lupe on the regular everyday people tryna rank rappers and their skill levels, if you dont write rhymes on a high level then why would I possibly take your opinion seriously when discussing a rappers skill level? Lol. But I disagree on Electronica. He is dope, his voice is dope and he is a good writer...but I never understood the hype. "Its the new Nas!!!!" and all that there, relax, he isnt elite like that at all. I think that may be the root of the gas, because he kinda sorta sounds like Nas sometimes.
I disagree with Lupe on Budden too, lol, Budden was a great rapper who made dope music when he wasnt trying so hard to catch a club banger or a formulaic "girl song"...be he was never no "master" either
I don't think he's saying you can't judge if a rapper is good or not, but you can't judge "master tier of the craft" unless you know what to look for, and if you're not a master, you wouldn't know what's the criteria or how to properly judge it.
I always ranked Jay Elect highly skill wise. I don't think he displayed it on this particular album. One part I agree with Lupe on for certain is that I do not believe how technically elite you are (won't use master) has nothing to do with producing conventional albums. That's where I think Joe is wrong. Joe is looking at it from a "If you're really great, you have to constantly produce elite level songs", but that and elite level rhyming take two total different talents.
100, Budden is definitely wrong there. I'm curious to hear Budden's take now. It seems like he shytted on Elec and the album as a whole but I already know he didnt have that same energy forJay-Z, lol, he would never, too scared.

Ak went on a longer rant but I can't find the full video. One thing he doesn't do is lie.
Saw this coming from a mile away. What I'll say about Ak is that although he can be corny at least he's genuine. I occasionally see Joe throwing shade in his direction and I can't help but think that dude is just phony and narcissistic.
"All I do is drink and go to therapy." 
I think he's talking more about the technical stuff, not the music itself and if its sonically pleasing to the listener, that's something else, fans definitely have a say so in that part because it's all opinion based. When it comes to the mechanics of rhyming and the skill level certain people have, fans don't really have enough knowledge in that department to be taken seriously when discussing who is more skilled than who, I'd rather hear that from someone who is highly skilled themselves
