Fam I sat through a podcast episode of Joe giving a track by track breakdown of scorpion for 2 hours

Joe is quick to say an album ain’t for him so he can’t judge it when it’s an artist that’s popular that is dropping a weed plate ..like Uzi

This is Joe being salty

pure salt

Let Royce drop this and he would have zero criticism

No true the difference is Royce is really like a brother to Joe in saying that he would have spoke with Royce about it on the podcast like he did about Royce current album . When Royce was on the podcast you could tell its like two brothers having a honest dialogue ....

If that's the case then the whole podcast is hating. They all said it was underwhelming. All four of them.
They all said Jay Elec did his thing and there was great MC'ing on the album. They all said the beats were underwhelming and that it could've been mixed better. Even Joe with all his hating said Elec did a great job rhyming just that it was a huge mistake for half of his debut album to feature Jay-Z and that Jay-Z outshined him.

joe went a little bit further and was kinda flippant in saying elec offered nothing by way of content other than he follows the teachings of elijah muhammad and shared nothing else about himself

Ehhhhhh Uzi’s album has great reviews everywhere + sold a lot. Thats why he said it wasn’t for him rather than shytting on it.

People gotta stop with "Joe Budden" isn't relevant...:beli:

Joe Budden dosent have a "classic body of work"

:beli:

Really..... check mood muzik 2 or 3
He isn’t relevant as a rapper, he’ll be the first to tell you this when he’s in a good mood. One might say that he’s like Jalen Rose, and ballers/rappers are the ones Jalen Rose/Joe follow with their job at billion dollar corporations. He’s on tv every week, has a following, makes money but he’s not a ball player. Nobody would care if he played and nobody cared when he retired.

As far as rap resume, imo he has 2-3 very dope mixtapes, Pump it up and did fairly well independently with no love lost. He also had about 5 weak to average albums.

Certain people might think those MM-tapes are trash (I doubt they’ve listened), just like Joe is entitled to his opinion that Elect it trash and post Malone/Russ are straight heat.

Everyone is relevant to someone if you have one fan :yeshrug:

If Jay Elec was dropping 3 mic albums he would too be classified as irrelevant. But now he’s got a defined section, albeit small, of hiphop that really fukks with him. Same circle Joe was in back in his MM-days

so?

that wasn’t my contention nor is it a point worth discussing

yeah but it wasn't flippant in my opinion and it wasn't some outlandish take. Every one agreed with it. I think it was mild I seen Joe go much harder on albums, what he said about jay elec was light. That's all I'm saying.

Yall running with this jealousy thing just cuz joe dont like the album is so tiresome at this point lol like a nikka cant have a difference in opinion

He hates that Jay Elec dropped Exhibit C and then got granted God tier status, and then kept it without having to put out a project for 10 years. That's purely what it is. He was harping on this fact long before the album dropped:yeshrug:
