Didn't they say that Mal moved away and wasn't in contact with Joe for a while until shortly before he started on the Podcast? Something about he was randomly back in town and Joe asked him to come through and it was cool, and it went from there. Sounded like after Mal & Joe lived together back in the day, Mal bounced for a while. So the real question is, why the hell would he come back to such a clown.

I don’t think Joe is hated enough that half a million people would watch people they don’t care about to spite him. He’s definitely hated but I think more people like rory & mal than people expected.

Big facts. By going in on them like that Joe made them sympathetic figures. Most people thought it was foul and wanna see rory and mal do well now.

If Joe was playin chess he’d have just been like yeah the guys aren’t on the pod no more, it’s a shame but I love em and wish them the best he tried to act like they’re replaceable but the level of contempt he had for them dipping made it obvious they weren’t that replaceable

Joe threatened to sue them for starting their own podcast, that pretty much exposes what they could or couldn't do without Joe's involvement. Does anyone with a podcast under Joe's network have ownership of the podcast? Or are they just paid like employees.

Why would they want to start anything with Joe's involvement when he's already shown himself to be a shady dude to do business with.

I'm willing to bet that Joe wasn't just being nice when he said he'd never sue them, he just didn't realize that non compete clauses are usually void or easily defeated in court when you terminate someone before their contract ends.
