I think Joe was either lying or over exaggerating when he said spotify wanted ownership of everything from joe rory and mal. If that's true then Joe is literally the only person who would have had to give up ownership to stay with spotify.

What most likely happened is that spotify wanted to remove the podcast from YouTube and exclusively host video and audio on spotify, but Joe thought he could negotiate for just audio with spotify and then double up on a deal for video on another platform. I don't know why he felt he could get joe rogan dollars for just audio, spotify isn't that stupid.
he was complaining about Spotify wanting everything from his Pull Up series and whatever other things he's done on the side...meanwhile a new episode of all of that super valuable IP hasn't been done since before the Spotify deal ended…or even before the pandemic.

seems to only further prove that he was making shyt up. no more easy, guaranteed checks from live shows, Spotify and Revolt to help fund that kind of stuff.
I'm thinking Joe went in wanting Spotify to give him extra money and he'll build a full network and they hit him with the "so what". That's why Joe ranted so much about them not seeing his vision.
shyt, every time anyone gives a logical response against Joe's "methods", he hits them with the "you don't see my vision...it's beyond your comprehension" talk.

Joe really tried to spin that Spotify shyt. :russ:

Talking about I’m for the creators and “There’s oppression on the bridge”:damn:

Dude wants to cash out so bad and there is nothing wrong with that but he keeps getting in his own way and when it doesn’t work out, goes into spin mode.

He said Spotify wanted a piece of everything and then when you think about it, what did he have to offer? Mal & Rory weren’t doing anything (now after the split, that was a good decision on their part) and you can tell Joe came up with the network shyt with no real plan.

He said it wasn’t a factor, but seeing Rogan and Bill Simmons get their deals absolutely had an effect on how Joe dealt with Spotify.

Now dude out here shytting on YouTube only to realize how dumb that is and come back even if he’ll have to deal with Rory & Mal doing better at the moment.

He too good for ads even though in the early days they handled it well. Lost the CashApp deal.
Comparison is the thief of joy.

He was never going to get Rogan or Simmons deal. :mjlol:

Joe is right about there being no hype for the Ye project

and if you think there’s hype then you’re in a bubble

Ticketmaster crashed several times cause of people tryna cop a seat to listen to it cmon lmao

Honestly, with this type of rollout, it's hard to tell.

On one hand, yeah, people were trying hard as shyt to get into the listening event.

On the other, it's tough to tell if that's all excitement for the album, or people excited for the opportunity to just say they were there.

I think now with social media, it's hard then ever to tell if an album or artist has any real hype because the experience is so tailored to users' interests. For every person that can say they see nothing but people hyped up for this, there are likely just as many that can say that there's nothing as far as anticipation goes.

I guess we'll know sometime next week when numbers come out. I totally expect this album to debut at number one, but the sales/streaming volume will probably give a clearer idea of what type of anticipation and reception it had.

Then wit ya definition it becomes purely subjective, he’s been constantly trending while saying nothing but I do agree the lasting effect will prove how concrete the hype is but there is hype regardless no doubt bout that
