It wasn’t a bad deal. The 2 for 44 million is more annually than what they just managed to gross. And he had to work a lot harder to get there. If they let him keep his content on YouTube (or release is there later) - he would’ve taken it. There would’ve been nothing stopping him from creating his own network while having the Spotify deal.

It was a bad deal to Joe. saw a reddit comment say they werent gonna be able to release on youtube. That's on top of Spotify wanting dibbs or w/e on everybody in the podcasts other ventures. So if he did create his own network, spotify wouldve had their hands in it. even if it was shyt that didnt have anything to do with Spotify.

This is on top of Joe saying Spotify wasnt honoring shyt in the first deal like "showing them the numbers" or w/e joe said and Spotify wouldve ate the lion's share of deals like Prize Picks.

Why yall dummies rewriting history? They negotiated badly. Joe wanted a Rogan type deal. And he had a contract with Rory and Mal where he would have had to give them a portion of that Spotify deal.

Technically he is making more money now bc he doesnt have to share percentage with anybody. Its all what the salary dictates.

I know those expenses for the other cast members doesn’t sound a lot compared to the alleged total….but these people getting paid 10k - 20k a month to talk about pop culture and crack jokes on each other for a few hours a week.

And they know that. Ish for example has the Pod money but also his own steady (I imagine) business. This extra cash each month is easy work and should be appreciated. Ice on the other hand totally relies on the Pod unless I am mistaken? All the others seem to have at least something else going on besides the Pod

That's like saying fringe starters don't be pocket watching the stars in the NBA because they're still making money. Humans are greedy by nature. Once they see Joe is making more than all the staff combined the grumbles will start. Or they'll start to think they can start their own shyt and make more than what Joe is paying them (they're wrong).

Hell even in the corporate world where most of our jobs are a joke and we're overpaid people are still watching what those above those are making and grumbling about how they deserve more.

That's like saying fringe starters don't be pocket watching the stars in the NBA because they're still making money. Humans are greedy by nature. Once they see Joe is making more than all the staff combined the grumbles will start. Or they'll start to think they can start their own shyt and make more than what Joe is paying them (they're wrong).

They can grumble all they want but so what? It was salary from the beginning with the current cast.

shyt went left with Rory & Mal because Joe was going to put them on salary as opposed to the revenue share deal they originally had.

Flip & Mel are the only two I can see really having an issue with it. We know how Flip is and they make jokes about Mel but she was serious about negotiations would have gone different if she knew how much Joe was making.

She also said they should have been paid when that Drake focused episode got put on Patreon. Joe jokes about it but he always says them two are who he has to watch out for.
