That’s all whatever in a vacuum but it doesn’t fly when we add the context of Joe’s supposed views on “Creators”. Joe practically signed his own people to a bad deal while condemning every corporation in existence for signing people to bad deals.
This nikka in a nice ass house with a personal chef, going on vacation while his guys aren’t seeing any steady income from the work they’re putting in.
If Joe was about what he speaks on, Rory and Mal would’ve never been in this situation to begin with.




My nikka, there’s before and after the Spotify deal. Joe even says that Rory asked for a cut of YouTube years ago. That deal doesn’t negate all the rest of those seemingly unpaid years.

When Joe is talking about the creator. He’s talking about himself and no one else. Everyone else on that podcast are employees.

Mal and Rory played themselves but Joe is really a high level piece of shyt. There was no real friendship there. He saw himself as the man doing them favors. That’s why one of the first rules they taught in my entrepreneurial classes back in college was to not work with friends or family.

Any of y’all that are into tech. There’s a YouTuber named Linus Tech Tips. His contract structures with his employees are pretty much the same as Joes. He just doesn’t talk to his employees any type of way tho.

On the business side of things, from the informs given Joe is in the right. But on the personal side of things he’s wrong and he’s a dikkhead. The reason Parks isn’t complaining is because he understood what this was from the beginning.

Who’s fault is that? He could’ve easily made a channel specifically for the podcast way back when, but I doubt bro ever had any intentions of sharing any revenue from YouTube.

The problem here is they came in this for the love. When the money started coming, the paperwork wasn't in place. Fast forward and Joe has rebranded his YT channel to the network's YT channel.....now he's making bread off of ALL of the shows. His old content might be generating views. He's chopping up clips of the pod and generating additional views lol. Them little medleys of clips from different pods...all that. Joe is funding the network mainly off of the JBP. We can argue Rory and Mal's contribution, but they got the show booming. They got them tours booming as well. Just a fukked up situation.

I always think about Ghostface and Divine from the Wu Tang Mice and Men documentary....Divine told Ghost put that love/friendship in your back pocket. Rory and Mal should have done that shyt from the jump. Yeah, I'll come on, but when we generate bread, I need X. Come to think about it, Joe has always been getting bread off the show via YT...even when he said the show wasn't making a dime lol. Damn, y'all!

listen if my skinny con artist ass could casually find out from somebody at Anchor (lets call Spotify's indie podcast division) that Mal and Rory had no idea that Joe had a clause that he could replace them at any time and that Joe would only reup with Spotify if he got the "Head of Creator, Podcaster Mission" role. also, both Rory and Mal also apparently were to get their own music/radio style podcasts that Spotify are doing now if they resigned.
