they're not children. it's their responsibility to understand what they were signing. It's 2021 and ppl are still getting fukked over on contracts because they're too lazy to read. not to mention, both rory and mal know all about contracts because they worked in the industry before. rory worked at a dam record label. they were kii kiing at meg the stallion for her contract troubles.

Having listened to the Patreon bit, there's one thing that's clear.

Not everyone who WANTS to be a boss SHOULD be one. Because sometimes despite being a smart person, people can struggle with the mentality of actually being in that position.

In Joe's case, he clearly wants to have it both ways. He wants to be the boss by dictating everyone's role in respect to the podcast, but when it comes time to handle discussions about those roles, he wants people to give him benefits of being their friend.

For example, when he backhandedly talked about them not reading their contracts, the argument is likely that they didn't do so because they thought their friend wouldn't try to fukk them with the paperwork (which is dumb anyway. ALWAYS check the paperwork, even if it's your fukking mother).

The fukked up part is that this was all easily avoidable. Had he been everybody's friend and fully explained what it was up front, everybody would've been on the same page from jump. And going forward, he could keep them around with business standard golden handcuffs by paying them (within reason) to keep them around, not necessarily what they're worth.

Pretty much. Like what deal is he looking for at this point? He went to Patreon for some bullshyt fake role. If the numbers were high, I think he'd actually show them. People were already souring on the podcast, this blow up right now has been brewing since last year. I think the Spotify talk constantly had everyone wondering what the fukk he was doing.
Charlamagne called it though. Joe tried to come at him and at the end he was right. Charlamagne has a network and put people on more than Joe has. All Joe does is start bytching when things don't go his way.

Facts. There is no other reason why you would go as far as firing the person (your good friend), who is asking to see the books instead of just letting them see the books if you're not doing some dirty business. Anybody who doesn't see that is just lost in Budden's gift of gab.

When you're doing legit, tight, good business you actually want people to see your books, you're proud of yourself, for real. Same as when you're not cheating, you got no problem leaving your phone on the couch when you and your girl watching a movie or sumn when you go to the bathroom, there's nothing to hide.
