Parks is so fukking annoying...
I don’t mind Parks chiming in at all, but I get annoyed at little audio things in general like him saying - “Mmmmm”, “Uh-huh”, “Mmm-hmm” for every other sentence that comes outta Joe’s mouth.

After years of working with no ownership, he really expected their effort and buy in to match his? That’s insane. That’s why startups have vested equity. It gives the people incentive to work hard cause they know at a certain point it will be partially there’s.

This is why I understand Rory and Mal's side of the argument. I feel like it's a chicken and egg scenario, if you want them to put effort into building the brand then give them a small piece of ownership. Don't tell them that they will never be more than contracted employees under you, then expect them to do more than just show up when contractually obligated.

They took time out of their day and showed up for free to pod with Joe for years, you can't say that wasn't real effort put in before ever turning a profit.

This is it for me. It’s a catch 22 once Joe expects these guys to go the extra mile, create extra shows, bankroll this and that before they talk ownership. But those are the exact type of actions you don’t do if you don’t own a single piece of whatever venture you’re in.

This is 100% how startups work. And these startups are worth way more than Joe’s ‘network’ and they pass out equity to way more people than everybody in park’s little recording den. It’s the same reason you can go to a big company and hide out for 8 years, but at a startup people notice if you’re gone for 8 days.

If you don’t wanna give Savon, Alex etc. equity then that’s fair, but the on mic talent deserves less than 10% equity, considering they’ve both been there since everyday struggle. The valuation gain from then to now on the podcast is nuts.

And really I’m surprised Parks hasn’t wanted any equity seeing how he owns the studio and equipment that they use. But after seein his dikk suckin lips on the last two pods it kinda makes sense. If he just wants a check I can respect that, especially when he has other lines of business he makes bread off of.
Yeah the "they're employees' " shyt is not telling the entire story. Joe is the biggest personality but it also depended on those two as co stars as well. Joe leaned on their connections and ultimately their chemistry to build the product.

The startup analogy is funny because I just left a similar situation at a super small 4-5 person firm. I'm an "employee" but I was also the second most knowleglible consultant on the staff and did everything that my superior was too busy to do and my other co-workers were not advanced enough to handle, which was alot. Tell me why they announce every year that we're up 6-7 figures in revenue but I get pennies and nickels for raises:what:. I got the fukk up outta there and doubled my salary. No hard feelings:sas1:

Facts. I think a lot of people (including Joe) are caught up in the idea that equity can only be attained via money. In reality, like you said, you get equity in a start up for just about anything you do to contribute to the growth of the company leading up to the point where that equity actually means something. Now where there is a real argument is what your sweat equity comes out to when compared to the equity gained monetarily.

Parks looks wild here, because my man is out here bragging about not having a contract with someone who has had past issues with paying people for their work, including HIM. That's a guy who is completely fine with his role in life, which is completely fine, since ultimately you aren't living life to make someone else happy with your situation. But to shyt on the next man for not wanting to live like you do is sucker shyt, especially when the person you're shytting on is striving for a better situation.

But that leads me to another question: how is this scalable? Joe has had serious staff issues when this is in the startup/loss taking phase. What happens if this really takes off to the level he wants it, and he has dozens of people to manage business relationships with inside his own organization? If breh is struggling with let's say 10 people total at what he claims is an overall loss, what happens when the headcount triples, and some of those people are directly responsible for serious changes in profit?

Yea but Joe had them thinking that they weren't workers. When he was going on his rants, he acted like the Joe Budden Podcast was all three of them. When it's only Joe. Should have told them what it was from jump.

He had all these rants about ownership and how spotify is fukking "us" and not respecting us when he was talking about himself. Them nikkas fukked up tho, they should have branched out and do their own thing. But it looks like if they did, it would have been under the JPB umbrella. Nikka signed them to a 360 :dead: the irony

I assumed they were after how they used to go on about it all the time :dead:

I mean didn't Joe want some part of Clubhouse because he was always mentioning it on the podcast or something ? :heh:

Joe went on for weeks about Spotify not letting him see their books and determine how much value they are bringing in. Tried to tie racism into it to get black people to ride. Now he hiding the bag from his co hosts and firing them for asking questions . You can’t make this up.

As a fan of the show I’m with you. All that creator talk sounds good. But for them to have all the behind the scenes info (e.g. the contracts and relationship with Joe) and think it’s something different than what it wound up being is crazy. :russ:

Not only that according to AK....When Joe found out how much money Spotify cut everyday struggle for the sponsorship, he wanted a % and when he didn't get that HE WAS OUT

This man is so hypocritical it's hilarious at this point:laff::laff::laff:

I already know how this translates to his relationship with girls.

I fukk 100 side chicks but I come home to you and it's no big deal. You like one guys picture on IG and it's WW3 :russ:

Joe: I can’t believe Mal let that white boy get in his head:wow:

Said he hasn’t talked to Mal without Rory there and Mal won’t return his calls or text:mjcry:

Said Rory had his chest out proud that Mal was riding with him on some :umad:

Mal let that fukka trick him off the pod :wow:

He could easily have finished his contract doing the same shyt he's been doing. Foolish pride is a mufukka

My question is, since Joe was clearly aware of everything bubbling up. Why didn't he address it right away?

shyt started 18 months ago. Joe said numerous times that there were a lot of things that he didn't want to say to them. He bytched up on his "boss" role and now the pod dead
