nikka the podcast got STARTED because Joe was moderately famous. It ain’t about other podcasts. We talkin about THIS one. shyt the shyt took off even MORE after Everyday Struggle. Joe Budden was the draw. People tuned in for him. Marisa got fired. They brought an unknown Mal in. The show went on. HE’s the one who had the connections and actually utilized them. People called it Joe Budden’s Podcast before it was officially named that. Joe’s history in the internet, reality TV game such as Joe Budden TV and Love And Hip Hop. His history in radio. And all of that combined with his eccentric personality is what created the draw. If it wasn’t for him. Rosenberg wouldn’t have suggested it in the first place. There would be no Joe Budden podcast without Joe Budden. These nikkas for better or worse. Just talked. And he was the spearhead in that as well. U think the show still goes on if u remove Joe Budden from the fold? U think they still get advertising and all them business interests? No fukkin way. But they get fired. The sho still goes on. As u saw when they left for a few weeks and people liked it BETTER without them there. And that’s not just some net shyt. People literally spoke to me on this shyt in real life on some yo Joe’s podcast better without Rory and Mal. Them nikkas thought they were more valuable than they were. They didn’t play their cards right. Period.

If it was JUST JOE and nothing else why did the numbers not immediately start off with the numbers they hit years later?

There's a variety of factors. shyt didnt really blow up until JOE HIMSELF got more visibility in the mainstream. Until JOE HIMSELF got that deal with Complex for Everyday Struggle. JOE HIMSELF was bringing in the deals. Money. Equity. Advertising. They were using HIS studio. All of that. Yall buggin tf out. lol. When the YOUTH and mainstream caught on to Joe. THAT's when it took off. But lets not get it twisted. It was very much JOE.

The success of the pod cannot be attributed to the fact that Joe was moderately famous.

There are bigger celebrities with lesser podcasts, and lesser celebrities with bigger ones.

The pods stand alone. Either they're good, or not.

joe budden is different. His words and how he deliver them is just special. He gets under people skin. Jay Z followed only him. Wu tang socked him. Countless other celebrities have issue with his words. It’s joe. People who hate him listen to his 3 hour pod every week. Dude know how to evoke emotions with words. Dude got a gift

That ain't entirely true. Rory was bringing in the ads

It was a running joke on the show that Rory would beg Joe to take the ad reads seriously because they kept losing them. Then there were no more ads

Another example is Snapchat. A lot of people don’t know it was started by 3 dudes, not just Evan & Bobby. It was a 3rd guy named Reggie who even now if you click on his name on Wikipedia, it just redirects you to the lawsuit section.

Reggie actually came up with the concept, logo/mascot, the other two guys got him up out the paint and when shyt went to court, called bruh an UNPAID INTERN.

He eventually settled and got a nice bag, $157 million but compare that to the billions the other two made.

I can gripe w/ how Joe does business, but I don’t think even he could reach sicko mode levels like this
