How many episodes is he doing per week now :dahell:

Yeah they didn't do a great job at all explaining but to me it looks like

Monday: bonuses (Patreon subs only)
Tuesday: bonuses (only for top 2 tier Patreon subs)
Wednesday: regular show (no Youtube & top tier Patreon subs get RSS)
Thursday: Wednesday's show uploaded to Youtube a day later (+ top 1 tier Patreon bonuses)
Saturday: regular
Sunday: uploaded 1 day later

So I think it's still only two a week but they've made it confusing while trying to milk subs. I can't see doing more than two over 7 days but it just goes to show how confusing it is if you get different answers.

The only question is what "Youtube Edition" means, whether it's just 1 day late or they're trimming whole episodes on top of the delay. If it's the latter then at that point what's the point.

I will never understand why he was so adamant against ads on the podcast that’s an easy 6 figures he coulda made at the peak of the show :mjlol:
That would have been 7 figures by now if he had sponsors years ago. Joe definitely left millions on the table trying to be anti sponsors because he swore everyone would stop listening instantly if they had to skip a few ad's a pod. Like people would rather spend $10-$25 a month than to watch joe do a 30 second manscape commercial.

The worse part about it is the bonus episodes have been far better than the normal podcast, and you only get all the bonus episodes with the $25 tier patreon. That's the same price as the Sunday ticket package yearly, Joe wants $300 a year to access the entertaining content, it's fukking ridiculous.

ads aren't even that bad (some ad reads be so stupid/funny), and he could've leveraged the ad free version as a paid option like thousands of podcasts do

not trying to armchair podcast but he could have easily made the ads authentic to them and got the extra 5gs a month or whatever it was he said ($2500 an ep)

i know he was complaining about spotify putting THEIR bullshyt ads on back catalogs but im not talking about those.

Exactly.

Patreon should have been something joe was doing years ago for the people who wanted an ad free experience, aside from that he should have been doing whatever to maximize revenue. It's insane that the podcast wasn't making any money until the spotify deal came.

Mal and Rory weren’t getting paid until the Spotify deal that doesn’t mean the pod wasn’t making any money. IYKYK

no doubt..i like when podcasters personalize the shyt, makes it fun.

the short time they did do ad reads was :russ:

I'm sure Joe was making a decent amount for himself, but as popular as that podcast was, joe should have been making 7 figures yearly before spotify.

Ian has to be the worst manager ever, or maybe joe doesn't listen to Ian's advice.

This has been a shining example of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
