The X-men with cringe level comedy, dumb down trash villains, and an overuse of CG/Spectacle to make up for the complete lack of soul? O boy what could be better than that?
I think they got accustomed to subverting expectations and still making money, and thought they could get away with not giving people what they want.
It'll take years for them to address the negative feedback they've gotten, so I think the worst is still yet to come
