Memphis is one big ass hood.

Folks will tell you that Germantown and Collierville are nice and you have nothing to worry about, but Memphis isnt like other big cities where you have a buffer zone between the hood and upscale areas. I dont care where you are in the city, its a short walk to the hood.

Did you see that video of them idiots beating Kroger employees with pumpkins? Some of the richest people in Memphis can look outside their window and see that shopping center, but so can the poorest. Them big ass houses in harbor town are literally one block from a hood.

The victim said the men took him to a nearby house, hogtied him, removed his clothes and took turns raping him with a wooden stick.

He said he was burned with a hot flat iron, burned in his private area with a lighter, burned on his foot with scalding water, struck with a bat and cut on the throat with a knife. The victim said he then was placed in a bathtub with bleach and that one of the men used a power drill on his hand.

Reading through this thread and a lot of truth in here. Not sure how I missed this. Anyways I hate living here with a passion, there’s really nothing to do and like someone said, damn near the entire city is the hood because everything is so close lol. Whenever I visit other cities it makes me want to pack my bags, working hard to make it a reality. Been here 30 years and have experienced everything that it offers, I want something bigger and better, especially since I’m planning on having children in the next few years. There is nothing for children really which is why they get into so much shyt. When we were younger we had liberty land, discovery zone, celebration station, adventure river, etc..We have none of this now. I lived in Klondike up until I was around 29 now I stay off of colonial. It’s a better area and I have more of a piece of mind, but shyt not too far is orange mound or across the express way is parkway village a five to eight minute drive and nikkas is plotting. All of my friends or people I know who left Memphis for Nashville, ATL, Arizona and Houston leveled up and say they wouldn’t ever move back.
